Everything pregame was saying you just won't beat Bobo low. The Oilers all day stuffing pucks into pads and when they went high missing net. FRustrating game.

We had 3 breakaways and stuffed pads everytime. Its like they didn't even study Bobo. they had all week.
I think Henrique kind of ran out of real estate with the d-man pressuring him. RNH or whoever was on the second breakaway should have done better.

Dig deeper into that stat find teams that lost with over 80% shot share and I bet that stat falls apart anyways.
IMO none of those stats matter. If you want to find excuses to lose go for it, all that matters is that it's 0-1 in the series. Like McDavid says, one day at a time. Knob needs to make some changes and let's see what game 2 has in store.

On the US feed it sure looked to me like Henrique got hooked to the hands.
They missed a boatload of slashes and hooks to the hands.

I use “missed” loosely. Cause they probably saw them and just decided cause it’s the Cup finals they won’t call it.

Agreed.

Some of you guys need to relax. Sometimes a goalie stands on their head, that's hockey. We just saw Skinner do the same thing to Dallas.

Like are we going to pretend that Florida and their 18 shots didn't make any mistakes? How many breakaways did they give up and they aren't throwing guys under the bus.

Foegele is shit. Lavoie can snipe and play physical. Gagner is no slower than Perry and while he can't play a bunch of games in a row you can bet your ass that he'd bleed for this team and his chance to get his name on the cup.
Put me out there and I'd try my butt off too - but Gagner and I have the same problem - we are not the same players we once were and we didn't have much footspeed to begin with.

I think the Lavoie you see in Bakersfield or the one in your head is much better than what we would get on the ice.

Play Carrick - he was great in each and every appearance he's had.

The Panthers executed perfectly on 2 Oiler mistakes.
Mind you they were glaring mistakes but....
The Oilers on the other hand didnt execute at all.
There were at least 5 Oilers chances where the shot just missed the mark entirely. The Hyman one sticks out in my mind.

Florida just didnt miss on their 10 bell chances.
On this night the Oilers best players just didnt get the job done. They didnt execute.
I dont see that happening again in game 2.

Broberg was great this game. Let him babysit Ceci next game.
Then Kulak can babysit Nurse.
Could happen.

I think though that Kulak is so solid in the playoffs that he helped Broberg in this game as well.

Foegele is shit, Mcleod too, I'm definitely not bagging on Gagner, but he is too slow for this series. And the Oilers have never even considered Lavoie as an option in the playoffs 100%.

Much better to put the blame on the two players with letters who made big mistakes than 4rth liners imo

Thought he had a couple of excellent breakouts. Just skated the puck right out of the zone himself.
It was great to see.
Its pretty amazing to think that a rookie dman can play his best hockey with the big club in the highest pressure situation possible.

try this

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Kulak
Broberg - Vinny
I don't mind Broberg Vinny but I can't imagine our coach trusts two young d men on the same pair in the Stanley cup final especially after dropping game 1 where the team deserved to win but came out with a shutout loss.

Kulak is our third best dman. He needs to be in the top 4
I agree.
Kulak is just so reliable.

It seems that we are always loking for a babysitter for Nurse...perhaps Kulak is that player because the teams needs to get a lot more from Nurse..
