Bobo is so good he makes cross crease plays look like easy square ups. On the Drai to McD pass it hits Bobo right in logo. Thats a one timer pass across. Bobo makes a routine stop on it. the Panel mentioned the same thing. Bobo is dialed up. Florida lose going away without him.
They had a couple of breakaways and kept throwing the pucks low. He was just really fast moving laterally. Almost opposite of Vezina Stuart.

Just need to find better finish on our looks then. I can think of that Hyman back hand with the top of net available that went sky high. And Nuges clapper also went skiy high. Just bear down and bury those next time.

Also stop playing Leon and Connor together, the team was playing f***ing solid and Knobby went full panic and played them together again. It doesn't f***ing work man.

Also take out Perry, he is too slow to do sweet f*** all. So depressing how our third line is such a mess, can't seem to find a combination that works all playoffs.

Islands in the stream.
One of Perry/Kane should likely sit next game... could happen. I'd put in Gagner or Carrick.

One of Nurse/Ceci should sit next game... likely will not happen... but Desharnais or even Gleason would likely be better options just to see a fresh dman body in there.
Perry was particularly pathetic in this game. He's just our figurehead been to the final player but we have Henrique as well who played well. Perry adds nothing. If the team really needs him as a mascot or cheerleader theres something wrong with that. He just occupies a spot.

Theres a lot of blame Foegele, blame McLeod, blame Kane going on. Its not why we lost. None of McD, Drai, Hyman, Nuge had any finish whatsover around net tonight. Lots of stuffing pucks at net and then the Nuge embarassing open net miss. These are the guys that have to be the difference.

For Florida Bennett, Verhaege, Barkov did get their jobs done and did produce. That the Oilers superstars didn't get a point or a goal is why we lost.
Refreshing take lol. And agreed. Yeh we need to find more finish. We had our looks and we didn’t bear down.

I think Carrick has to draw back in for Perry next game

For those of you saying play Gagner..... get your head examined lol
I think that the Gagner thing is just sentimentality.
There is no way you can put him in.

Literally looked like the reverse of Game 6 against Dallas.

That was a virtuoso solo performance by Bob. Can't expect that to happen again.

I think Connor, Leon, and the boys will dial in as they get used to the Florida speed and pressure, they were probably rushing chances tonight. They’ll feel it out and realize they have more time than they think the next time out.

That's on holland for 9.25 and a 5M goalie sitting in the AHL
For sure.
Holland has done some good things but when you handicap yourself with poor decisions when it comes to $14.25M in cap space (on a cap maxed team) that really hurts the cause.

Sounds easy;)

Its the nature of hockey teams run hot/cold. The trick is to not have prolonged spell of that. 1,2 games max. But for 3 games we haven't cashed zilch EV. None of our forwards anyway. Drai has been cooled down for quite awhile now. He was stuffing pucks at net like a guy that scores 20 goals, not 50.

This team has always shown the ability to respond. McDrai especially. They’ll figure out this Florida D and goalie next game.

Everything pregame was saying you just won't beat Bobo low. The Oilers all day stuffing pucks into pads and when they went high missing net. FRustrating game.

We had 3 breakaways and stuffed pads everytime. Its like they didn't even study Bobo. they had all week.

Knoblauchs decisions so far have been so excellent that its surprising to see him make a decision that doesnt work.

What happened in this game means nothing going into game 2. We played an incredible game 5 against Dallas, most in here thought the team was super dominant and way better. Then we go into game 6 and get completely dominated but win, a goalie win for sure. Now we come into this game and control almost the entire game but can’t score and lose to a hot goalie. Florida did not play their best by any means, they may come out and completely dominate game 2 but we steal the win. It’s completely unpredictable from game to game, I have zero confidence the Oilers are better or worse than Florida, final score is the only stat that counts.

I think we should crowd the crease more in front of Bobrovsky, create havoc, and go for the greasy rebounds. When he's dialled in like that you are not going to beat him cleanly.

Holland has been a truly awful gm. I had to respond to the Holland thread in the main board.

Leon has to play with a rotating group of wingers like Mcleod who's a healthy scratch on any given day. Or 40 year old Corey Perry.

Compare this to the team Zito and Mehta have built.

Come in with Lavoie-Carrick-Gagner/Erne in place of Foegele-McLeod-Perry. Would we even notice a difference?
Yes, Lavoie would be fishing the puck out of the net and if you wonder how Gagner would look, consider how slow Perry looks lol

Speed is clearly our gameplan and Foegele and Mcleod on the wing with another center is the correct play on the 4rth line imo, Ryan specifically

Chances are already strong that Panthers won the series. What is it, 70+% of whoever wins game 1, wins the cup? Have to win the next game to have any chance.
Game 1 is game 1. The next game is always bigger in the playoffs so it’s by default the least important game.

I'm not sure we can expect a Florida passive game as much as this either. Some of what went on is score effects obviously and at some point in this game Florida started adjusting to having the lead and going to protect mode.

I don't feel we got a lot either in 3rd period. Not nearly enough.

The thing we can expect is for Bobo to be sharp until he's not. Hopefully his string don't last long.
