If we do end up around 5 and 14, C then D would be ideal. If we are really confident in the C lotto pick, I would call around to see what roster Dman might be available for that Isles pick. Someone like a Chychrun that can play right away, and then the following year that C and Raty are on the team. Myers + Pearson gone, OEL 24 buyout. Bam you got yourself a stew.
Bedard, Fantilli, and Carlsson should all be able to make the roster in 24/25 (if not next year). Give Raty another year to develop in the AHL and, in a perfect world you would have your 1, 2 and 3 C all between the ages of 20-25 (moving Miller to wing). There would be some growing pains for sure but that would cause me to buy seasons tickets again.
I like the idea of using the NYI pick as part of a package to acquire a D-man. But it's all in the details - who, how old, cost controlled? Can't really say what that will look like right now.

Confirmed

It's what I expected. Assuming they're going with the guy they think has the best chance to make an actual honest-to-god save, plus a brief chance to get him a bit of NHL action before Demko's return. The points don't matter anyway. Hope his self-esteem is in a good place, though, ha ha.

oh wow, I will definitely watch Silovs first game. Now I'm rooting for a win.

Silovs is a high quality goalie prospect, he's been tearing it up in the AHL as of late and is performing on the same level as other highly touted goalie prospects.

Last time a Latvian goalie made his NHL debut it was also against Rangers and he shut down Panarin. :sarcasm:

Good for Silovs...As the team is in garbage time, I don't have an issue with this..It's not like a pressure situation where Mikey D was put in a few seasons back.

Having Zib and Panarin bearing down on you is definitely going to be a massive step from being in Abby.

Another game between a team with everything on the line (the Rangers) versus a team just trying to get through another lost season (the Canucks).

The game will probably be competitive early, until Delia lets in a bad one or two. Then the floodgates could open again. I'm sure the Canucks won't 'mail it in' coming off that Detroit disaster. But the reality is these are two franchises heading in opposite directions.

And the Rangers will be bitterly disappointed if they 'lose to a team like that' the Canucks. So there's extra motivation for playoff-bound teams playing the sad-sack Canucks down the stretch.

I really don’t know about putting goalies in potential tirefire environments.

This team has conceded 5+ in 25/54 games.

Delia has also been competent and performed at a non-negative level.

I really wonder if they see this as an opportunity to get a look at him. I know Demko said x, but I just find this very strange.

Lots of things wrong with this team but they are looking for a save. Delia and Martin haven't been providing that so why not give the kid a try?

Tank’s on hold for a night. Get a low scoring win. Play Pettersson and Hughes 30 minutes.
