Guys, dont panick. As someone already mentioned, if a bad game is able to ruin a professional athletes confidence, he should not be a professional athlete.
Getting a game in the NHL is the biggest dream of any hockey player, and it is about to come true for him. I bet he is super excited. He sees that good performance is being rewarded in this organization. If anything, it should bolster his confidence.
Everyone, including him, should understand that the result of this game will have almost zero impact on his future carreer. He is not on a try-out contract. Regardless of his performance tonight, he is getting sent down once Demko is back, or even sooner. He starts the next season in the AHL. And only his results in the long run matter.
He is probably pretty pumped to become the 22nd Latvian ever to play in the NHL. And the 3rd to play for the Canucks - after Herberts Vasiljevs (2001-02, 18 games 5 points) and Ronalds Kenins (2014-16, 43 games 14 points).
