Wasn't he responsible for the Pacioretty, Subban, Mcdonagh, y.weber draft?

That year alone probably bought him some leeway to stick around so long...

That was a great draft but it’s been putrid since.

The best they can show in 14 drafts after the Pacioretty draft, only using guys who have 200 games or seem on track to do so :

Lekhonen-Galchenyuk-Gallagher (Great pick)
Andreighetto- Kotkaniemi (lost in RFA) - Caufield
- De La Rose -
- Evans -

Sergachev (Traded) - Beaulieu (gone)
Romanov-Mete (waived)

For comparison’s sake if you do the same exercise for the Sens:

Tkachuk-Zibanejad-Stone
Hoffman- Pageau - Batherson
Stutzle - White - Silfverberg
Dzingel - Grant - Smith
Sorensen - Lazar - Noesen

Chabot - Karlsson
Cowen - Ceci
Borowiecki - Wiercioch
Wideman

It depends on his role if we are adding him to what we have it’s good we can use more experienced ppl in our scouting departments

not sure what his role would be though he could probably get a high draft position elsewhere easily

maybe he can help our pro scouting department :help:

Between 1999-2007, Timmins was on a roll. Between Ottawa and Montreal, he was instrumental in drafting: Martin Havlat, Chris Kelly, Anton Volchenkov, Antoine Vermette, Jason Spezza, Tim Gleason, Ray Emery, Mark Streit, Jaroslav Halak, Carey Price, Andrei Kostitsyn, Ryan McDonagh, PK Subban and Max Pacioretty. That's a hell of a run over 9 years.

2008 and on though... things really dried up for him. Only guy of note is Sergachev... who the org didn't even hang on to.

To be fair, any of us would have taken Jason Spezza with that pick, that's like giving Tim Murray credit for picking Eichel.

I want Timmins nowhere near here. Even from the 2000s hockey is a different game and some guys just aren't able to adjust. Unfortunately, he fits the profile of a guy no other team wants and therefore may come cheap, like McGuire.

Timmins won't come cheap relative to other scouts and i think he would be pretty popular around the league

again it depends on his role

The reason he's not been playing in Vegas' top 6 is because he doesn't use his teammates well at all.

He can create chances by himself with his unreal physical gifts, but he just isn't good when it comes time to slow it down and make plays.

He's basically a 6'4 Formenton that isn't quite as explosive but way stronger. He's not close to Batherson as an offensive player.
This is false, they use him on the third line because he can drive a line. None of the other wingers can do that outside of Stone. A player that can dominate a game that continues to have more upside in his development is what Tuch is. He can literally be the best player on the ice, not common.

Your evaluation saying he is fomenton is flat out terrible. And I am Formentons biggest fan.

It doesn’t matter cause batherson is much more valuable than tuch which makes your trade proposal poor
You gotta beat theirs you understand that on some level. You also must have Alex Tuch confused with someone else. We're not describing the same player.

If Buffalo's interested in flipping him would love to see a Stutzle-Pinto-Tuch second line to end the season.

He was the centerpiece of the deal I highly doubt it. He also grew up a Sabres fan and is from Syracuse. Him playing with Cozens with their size and speed is going to be a handfull. But I agree he would be perfect with Stutzle and Pinto.

There is no spot for him here anyways, he's not taking Mann's position.

Unless he is added as another Assistant GM.

This is the Sens all time Win-Lost record.

GP 2195- W971- L 940-115-90-79
Win Percentage 0.507

Do you think Dorion’s team puts Ottawa below a .499% win percentage for the season? If he the GM that makes them an all time losing franchise?

156-196-39 so far by my count.

Obviously they're rebuilding very slowly, but so far the only success he's had is one season with the team he took over from Bryan Murray.

If this doesn't turn the corner, he'll go down as arguably the worst GM of all time, definitely the worst in Ottawa. If it does turn the corner, he'll get his day and surely brag about it in a press conference.

This feels personal from DJ. Del zotto isn’t very good but neither is heatherington. And he’s going out of his way to play heatherington

Seems like whenever Dorion gets a player DJ isn’t thrilled (DZ, Gaudette, Murray, Dadonov)

Dadonov got tons of opportunity.

the other three. Not so much. But actively playing heatherington over MDZ is pretty wild.

It's not personal so much as preference. DJ just loves big physical defensive D.

He's played Coburn, Gudbranson and Brown over objectively better D because they were smaller and less physical.

Which is why MDZ was such a weird signing. Fit just wasn't there.
