He had a chance to go for the body/shoulder first but it looks like he takes an awkward, almost fly-by route to the front of the body and picks the head. I dont think its the worst hit in the history of head shots but it was reckless and definitely suspension worthy.

Basically what I said on our forum

Took a terrible angle/route

Wasn’t intentional just a plug being a plug and recklessly so, worth at least 2-3 games

Just a tiny bit late, right guys. Hronek already has the puck and is nearly 3 stick lengths away from Boeser when contact is made.

A tiny bit late

All people need to do to see exactly how dirty this hit is: look at his skates and his head. He could have easily pulled up and not made the hit...and when you look at his head it makes it pretty clear he had no intention of doing anything but delivering the hit.

Just terrible and hope Boeser is back asap and had to leave for precautionary reasons.

Lol Jeannot first tries to get his stick on the pass, misses, and then shifts his weight and changes course to initiate the hit on the player who made said pass.

Hey Jeannot! He doesn't have possession anymore, that's how passing works!

I'm good with 5-8 games. It's not a good hit
It's not a good hit, but it lacks in the long suspension category. He didn't lift his elbow. He didn't launch into it. The initial contact is with the shoulder, but he was too inside and he got too much of the head. That's why I think it's more in the 2-3 range.

probably shouldn't be admiring your pass going east-west across the neutral zone but i think 5 and a game is probably the right call

it's a little late, a little high, a little not enough chest contact.. adds up to that
shame on you

This is the type of nonsense that if the league actually cared about player safety it would throw the book at.

Shit like this is why I’d never let my future kids play hockey - the concussion risk and quality of life hit you take because some bum couldn’t be bothered to take your safety into account is insane.

Really hope Boeser is okay.

Blame the pathetic NHLPA.

The NHLPA (like most unions) is in the business of protecting the worst of its members at the expense of everyone else. The difference between the NHLPA and these other unions is the NHLPA has members throwing hits like this that can cause permanent and life altering brain injuries. They know this, but still push for lesser penalties for the guys throwing these types of hits.

What does Miller have to do with that garbage hit?

Yikes Brandt Clarke is 21 and he looks like a 35 year old Wayne Cashman. A few strands of hair and I've seen better skin on an onion. He could be 30 like a few of those 17 year olds fudging his birth certificate to play in the Little League WS.

Ha, I just compared him to an aging Hulk Hogan in the thread on the Canucks board and then saw this.

Can anybody speak to why Jeannot is valued around the league?
I’m curious

He gets the whole bag worth of picks when he is first traded that leaves everybody scratching their head

Then gets a 2nd and 3rd again in a trade and Tampa fans seems pumped he is off the roster

What’s the appeal?

Yeah, it's a dirty play but you'd imagine the players would already have grown out of admiring their own passes. Guess not.

Hits, fights, and briefly when he was 24 looked like he had some skill to his game. I guess all the GM's want to be that genius that thinks they know how to get him to find that skill game again. Looks toast though.

There is no defending that hit at all, in terms of player culpability, it's one of the worst head shots I've seen in a long time, from start to finish. It should be minimum 5 games.

I think it's more that players are not used to getting hit after the give up the puck. This isn't the 80s or 90s when you finished checks for attrition. That's largely out of the game.

No surprise Boeser was not expecting a late hit that provided 0 value towards getting the puck

I guess the only good things in this hit are that he didn't jump or elbow Boeser, otherwise everything else went to shit.

Should be a +5 game suspension, but is probably like 2-3 games, because Parros is an idiot.

This hit is so dumb that I wonder if Jeannot abd Boeser have some beef. Hope it's not too serious and Boeser is back soon.

Definitely a bad hit and suspension worthy. Completely unnecessary. I'm guessing 4 games unless Jeannot has a suspension history. Hopefully Boeser recovers soon.
