Haha. Page 69.

Can someone post a sad face Dorion meme. I think we all need some cheering up.
Why can’t we just enjoy page 69 without pictures of Dorion?

That sounds like a sure way to turn a smile upside down, and not in a page 69 way….

Gambrell, Motte, Kelly, Brassard have combined for 13 goals in 157 games this season.

Elli Tolvanen has 9 in 19 games for Seattle.
He’s just an ahler tho. Players like that become available every single week on waivers.

That’s what I heard.

To add to this:

Gambrell, Motte, Kelly, Brassard, Kastelic and Watson have a combined 21 goals and 38 points in 256 games.

That's an combined average of 7 goals and 12 points over a full 82 game season.

We're basically getting zero offensive contributions from our depth forwards, which should be shocking to no one because they have zero talent.

I'd add Joseph to that list & take Kastelic out, he's a rookie on the 4th line & there should have been no expectations of him putting up a lot of pts. The lack of scoring from the bottom six is a huge problem & I expect there should be some turnover there after this season. Not having Formenton has also hurt the team a great deal & losing Norris all yr forced then to Play Pinto in the top 6 when he should have been in the bottom six as a rookie. Next yr Greig should also help offensively in the bottom six.

Not sure how you can give Kastelic a free pass because of "expectations", but dig into Gambrell and Brassard when their expectations were to be the 13th and 14th forwards.

Overall our defence has been pretty good - Pierre Dorion
I don't know if it was "pretty good", but I would say it's "good enough".

Our problem has been scoring, especially 5v5. Which I suppose shouldn't be too surprising given our top goal scorer has been hurt the whole year. Fortunately, Stutzle seems to be taking his game to a whole new level these past few weeks and is a big reason we're 6-1-0 in our last 7 games.

Because Brassard is pretty much done in the NHL & Gambrell is barely an NHL player & Kastelic is a rookie. Gambrell has 1 pt this season, Kastelic can do so much more, he hits, he fights, he's good at faceoffs & he's out scored the older Gambrell. There are a number of players who should not be on this team next yr, but Kastelic is not one of them, they need his physicality on the bottom six.

Don't get me wrong. I love Kastelic. I'm just saying it's not really fair to give him a pass, but not give Brass a pass, when Brass has arguably exceeded expectations for a 700k PTO signing who was supposed to be our 13th forward.

Injuries are part of the game. In our case, we're down Norris and Formenton all year. Brassard was ideally going to be a swing man as a 13th forward moving in and out of the lineup. His ideal role was spot duty in the top 6 to cover short term injuries

So we've effectively played our 14th and 15th forwards full time. The slotting in the bottom 6 has been off all year.

Add in Pinto and Stu having less than year of playing center ice at the NHL level and yep,too green right now in critical areas up front

Still not sure why we didn’t take a flyer on him.

At this point it is quite clear this organization has major issues identifying dmen to target.

He couldn't cut it with the oil, didn't manage with the canes, good for him finding his groove in Van but I don't blame anyone for not believing in him at that point.
A big part of scouting is isolating elements.

Far too often, we pass on players who work out in favour of weak ones. We can't hit everytime but when you miss almost everytime, the process needs to be thoroughly reviewed.

1. Batherson/Chabot stapled to PP1 game in and game out despite their general f*ckery this year. All the while the 3rd leading scorer constantly sits out of PP1 (coaching/accountability issue).

2. Terrible asset(s) management/pro-scouting strikes again with the trading of Filip Gustavsson. Pretty obvious from the get go that he was the most technically sound goaltender in the system. He was also the most consistent goalie in the organization health/performance wise. Always ready when called on, despite being put in some of the terrible spots in Belleville/Ottawa and standing being so truly schocking bluelines.

3. Missing Formenton. If he's not convicted of a crime, he should come back home. Team complexion completely changes with him in the lineup, speed, goalscoring and feistiness wise.

4. Dorion/Murray era management is still allergic to executing and ACTUALLY bringing in legit top 4Ds. Always finding excuses as to why they were unable to acquire them while teams around them poach them relatively cheap. Always happy to pay and overpay, assets and contracts wise, for has-been goalscoring forwards though! Zub (free signing), Phaneuf (debatable) and Methot were the only top 4Ds brought in over a decade+.

The PP is top 3 in the league yet you still find a way to complain about it, Bravo...

Maybe because Batherson is leading team in PP goals and points.
