Good god this season is already over, re-group in the summer.

I’m okay with player for player trades, players with term, and so on. But if the idea is to repair this sinking ship with scotch tape and glue, they can f*** right off. If you keep the coach as a lame duck, which I’m okay with in lieu of other options, you cannot then go out and buy, buy, buy. They are totally incongruous thought processes. Odds are this team doesn’t finish bottom 5 anyway, and I don’t expect them to just give up, but it’s very short sighted and unrealistic if management actually believes this can be saved or is even worth saving. Fans won’t run back to their seats and televisions when they add a veteran depth player or two. Let it ride (mostly), make prudent decisions going forward, actually attempt to develop young players.

Over? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!

I've been predicting this since Fletcher took over:
1. Veteran 3C
2. Veteran RHD who's an upgrade over MacDonald/Folin
3. Goalie?

I think goalie will wait until after the road trip, because he wants to see Stolarz and Elliott should be back for Vancouver.
If they show well, he'll probably move on, since no point adding a veteran scrub goalie who is no better (Howard, Anderson, Talbot).

He knows he has Frost, Rubtsov may return this spring, Vorobyev is showing well, I don't see Fletcher breaking the bank for a 3C, rather, take a high priced veteran with a year or two left on their contract off someone's hands for chump change - Lehtera goes off the books next year, so at worst it's a wash, at best a substantial upgrade.

Again, he knows he has young defensemen, but he'd like to find a veteran anchor who is an upgrade over AMac and Gudas, that would take the pressure off the kids, he can package assets such as Hagg, 2nd rd pick, Friedman, etc. without giving up major pieces. Morin is back in March (after a rehab stint in LHV), Myers comes up a some point, Hogberg, Wylie and Kalynuk may be in LHV next year.

I don't see a top prospect/starter going in a trade unless it's for a top player in his prime, if I'm wrong, I'll bring the tar, someone bring the feathers.

My dream is that Scott forces Fletcher to make a trade, Fletcher refuses and then gets fired over philosophical differences.

If they’re cheap moves &/or something that extends past this year that’s fine. Realistically I don’t think you’re going to fill three holes like that in season. This is a good UFA crop with useful players to varying degrees that can fill holes. So I want it to be a real solution & not some Filppula bs or all the other crap we’ve gotten over the years in pro additions. Then of course the trade market is typically better in the offseason as well.

Inserting a vet Dman in exchange for AMac is fine. If these morons bought Hextall's fear of a young d and do not realize it is the shit coach being afraid to let them play their game and grow confidence, I don't know what to say.
