The coaches responsibility is to prepare players ultimately. Failures nonstop from the team suggest to me that the coach is doing nothing. A very important job and an easy problem to fix. No doubt that there are some players that need to go, but better to fire the staff first and see what you're getting with the new staff then judge from there.

I can't agree with this, the Kings can't play trap hockey. Tippett implements a very safe style of hockey that's built upon hiding problems. Also, I've read coyotes fan often say he is poor with rookies.

I mean, you can only ride Kopitar so hard until he stops playing. Kings need a new staff before trades happen. But I wouldn't be against any trades either.

Completely, I 100% agree the Kings need to have very close player evaluations and see what they bring.. The fact that we have players who've stuck around so long and don't contribute much suggest they don't do this.

No, they do that, they just have different opinions, again, this is virtually the same group that came out of the gates firing on all cyclinders last year....so I keep asking, what changed, one person said Turgeon left, another said the high wore off, essentially...either way theres a problem

Sure, if. I'm going to hold off on thinking that's a possibility until it happens though. No reason to think other GM's wouldn't squeeze the life out of Blake right now.

It'll take a while to get rid of that mentality then. Other GM's can clearly see what the Kings are doing right now. Blake is working from a position of total weakness. He has zero leverage in any potential trade he could make today. Not that he could make those trades today, since it's October in a hard cap world, and rarely have any team altering trades been made during that time. They're likely stuck with what they have for the time being.
Hence getting rid of Stevens and staff is the best option right now.

It’s obviously not working ? That’s a terrible quote . Wtf trade this clown

You'd expect better from a Veteran.

Seems they've had quite a few closed door meetings the last few years, especially the trash can one, and the last few years have still been the last few years. 0-5 at home in the playoffs. More than anything they've got going right now, 0-5 at home in the playoffs is horrible.

Won't get anything done.

Either you fire the coach or you trade a player. These players are like best buds which is a good thing to see . They’re all like besties who do everything together have big get togethers. Trade one of them to awaken them and scare them .

They've seen guys go. They saw what happened to Richards, as a result of something that if he could still play wouldn't have been a big deal. Players don't get scared by player movement.

The high of losing Sutter. Yes. Even when the Kings were winning games last year they still didn't look good. They looked really solid right out of the gate.
Thats BS, a broken player, give me a break....

Seems like something a veteran shouldn't be saying.

I love Muzzin's quote. Way to go Muffin. On Tippet I think he was pushed into the style he had with the dirt dogs but I can accept any objections. Agree to disagree. I see Tippet as one of the best in game coaches that I have run across and I have seen a few over the years. Still if things don't right themselves soon I will become much more accepting of a critic.

I am forever grateful to this team and core but it’s almost getting to the point I that I’m ready for the next era to begin even if it’s a rebuild. I say that knowing how bad this team has been in years past.

That's EXACTLY what a veteran should say man, he's literally saying, we've come comfortable with being mediocre and that's unacceptable....

Not saying I agree or disagree, but how would you interpret that? I take it as one of the veteran players on the team acknowledging an issue, and yet his play is one of the most indicative of that issue.

Yup. 100%. New coaching staff as well.

And? He never said he wasn't part of the problem....

He's saying that everyone has accepted being ok, and that's not good enough...

odds on la kings to win stanley cup this season are skyrocketing, parabolic. think of it this way: we're very close to a huge value zone now.... if they lose a few more like tonight i'll be very tempted to bet, odds-wise.

And, instead of talking about an issue even a bowling fan who never watched a game of hockey could see, do something about it. It's not like this is some new development that came up after this Buffalo fiasco.

He's guilty of some of the most uninspired play on the team. The guy looks asleep more often than not

Your right.....when asked about something, he should knock the reporter on his ass....

Seriously? You guys are too freaking much....

With a new coach teams don't have a lot of trends or film. About halfway through the year teams seem to have adjust to Steven's coaching tendencies. Steven is getting thrown curve balls and he still swings expecting the fast ball.

Still think the team misses Justin Williams. Nobody could ever question that man's work ethic, and I think it rubbed off on lots of guys

Yes because that's EXACTLY what I said.

Well freaking think before you say something as idiotic as you did ffs,

It's not like he went to a reporter after the game and said, hey, I have to get this off my chest....

He was ASKED A QUESTION and he ANSWERED THE QUESTION, and you are giving the guy grief because you think his play is the epitome of what he said, and it might be.

The problem is, HE NEVER SAID HE WASN'T PART OF THE FREAKING PROBLEM....

FFS, man...its like you giving shit to John Stevens because he was asked what he thought about the game and he said...man...we weren't prepared, and we sucked....which all is true, and which he contributed to....man, seriously just give your head a shake, giving shit to a guy for answering a question....now I've seen it all

Absolutely, that's three big reasons for the change, so yea, they need to look inside and see what can be done, it's not only Williams they miss, its Mitchell, its Stoll to a point, its Regehyr etc.
