Yeah, Mitchell was fine. He's generally nothing and a potential something was traded for him.

Just found it funny to hear Faust try to silver line me with the fact Mitchell played a good game.

What do the Kings have to sell at the deadline? Martinez? Muzzin? Lewis? Pray someone takes Brown?

whens the last time we saw a kings player warned for crosschecking guys too hard in a board battle? for taking liberties on a guy crashing the crease?

so soft.

It's been way too long. Guys like Mitchell, Regehr, Greene, Stoll, Richards... they'd always engage and initiate post whistle scrums because they wouldn't accept shit from opponents.

The spine of this team is long gone.

I still doubt Brown or Gaborik can be moved. I think you have correctly identified most of the guys with value in Martinez, Muzzin, and Lewis. Again, if the Kings aren't contending any time soon, what is the point of hanging on to Jeff Carter? He will have the highest return in a trade.

I like the idea of hanging on to Lewis though. He is the consummate NHL'er and a great example for young players to follow. Blake should ask for a premium in any deal for Lewis.

I agree on Brown and Gaborik, especially Gaborik. No way anyone is going to want him unless the Kings are retaining 50% and even then I doubt it. Yeah, Carter should be made available too. I didn't include him cause he probably won't be 100% this season and may never be back to his old level so they'd be selling low on him right now.

Pretty much everyone except maybe Kempe and Quick should be made available. I'd even listen to offers on Doughty. If someone is insane enough to give up something ridiculous then you have to think about it. On the other hand, listening to offers on Doughty might make him think the Kings don't want him.

Good point here. Carter would need to come back into the lineup and look like he is capable of contributing during the playoffs for a team to trade for him.

Better to keep Carter with his cheap contract and let him retire a King and mentor the Kids.If the team is going to blow up the team trade Kopitar and that contract.Have Gabby retire and it free's up money to restock.

It's just all about getting value back. Kings badly, badly need new blood on this team. I agree that Carter would be great to keep around cause of his contract and what seems like leadership but his value is probably one of the highest on the team if he's healthy. Kopitar is pretty much impossible to trade cause of that contract and the NMC.

-We're not scoring.

-Most of our defensemen continually make bad decisions with the puck.

-Quick's weakness as goalie is over aggressiveness which can lead to him being out of position. It's never been an issue, but lately teams have been able to exploit it for some reason.

-Most of the team looks flat. Not playing with energy or hunger.

You combine theses things and you're not going to win many games. Not sure what the solution is.

This is not a talented roster and Carter returning is not going to be some miracle. The Kings haven’t exactly killed it the previous three years with Carter.

I expect massive changes to finally happen this summer.

Just way to many guys that have been here way to long.

5-9-3 in the division. 2 wins vs the Ducks is the most I believe, with one game left. Shockingly, EDM is 9-2 in the division.

It's a weakness because it's always been an issue. His athleticism is what makes him as a goalie, and it contributes to some of the crazy saves he's made, but it can burn him and the team if things go off the rails. I can get ugly.

They've now lost their last 3 at home against the division, and their last 3 on the road against the division. They've lost 6 of 7 at home against the division, and 6 of their last 8 on the road against the division. They've now been outscored 11-3 in the 1st period in the last 8 games. Their starts have been a thing all year, but even in the Rangers game, after losing 6 straight, they still came out with a dud of a 1st period. Until Clifford threw a hit, and Kempe fought.

They have a decent emotional win against the Rangers after a rough start, but then that's what they do against the Canucks? You can make an argument that maybe they were playing a little better in the last couple games, but that was all just thrown out. 2-6-1 against the division, and 5-10-2 overall, since the season ended on Dec 9th.

Sharks sound they will lose Thorton for a considerable time.
Of course Kings are done playing the Sharks for the season, which pretty much is par for the course this year. Bad timing, bad play, just plain bad.

For those of you who watched that entire abortion of a game, my condolences.

If this team has any heart or character, they will show it tonight. If not, they can all go collectively f*** off. I'm not wasting my time watching a team who doesn't want to put forth the effort.
