GDT: GM #48 LA Kings vs Vancouver Canucks @7:00

-We're not scoring.

-Most of our defensemen continually make bad decisions with the puck.

-Quick's weakness as goalie is over aggressiveness which can lead to him being out of position. It's never been an issue, but lately teams have been able to exploit it for some reason.

-Most of the team looks flat. Not playing with energy or hunger.

You combine theses things and you're not going to win many games. Not sure what the solution is.
I agree with you on all this. You are a little different in that you acknowledge the scoring problem which to me is 100 times worse than our D problems. Collectively, Not enough playmaker ability and passing skills. The point in the game where I finally lost it was when Folin busted his butt all the way up the ice to create a clear 2 on 1 and Pearson just buries a long perimeter shot into the goalie. No lateral passes. Missed passes when they happen. Can't catch good passes, etc. It's all very sloppy. As for Quick, if I hear Fox say one more time that Quick made the save look easy because of his "push" out towards a player, I think I'm going to quag. He pushes himself right out of his crease and things are constantly going in from the side. He thinks he should never have to play a bad bounce off to the side or a late arriving F down the side, etc. He needs to be able to make more saves while remaining calmer, under control, and deeper in his crease. Many times his pushes leave him completely out of position.

At the start of the season, most of us hoped LA could be a playoff team and that was with Carter. Sadly, it's apparent after the last couple months that this team is not a playoff team without Carter. I'm not certain it's a playoff team if and when Carter returns. I don't believe it's a coaching issue or a Kopitar as captain issue. Brown, Kopitar, Doughty and Lewis are having improved seasons compared to last year. Pearson is worse. TT is still not playing well even though he has more goals. I think Forbort has taken a step back and could probably be replaced by Gravel if Blake wanted to shake things up.
This team should not be buyers at this point. Agree with the line of thought that they should see how the team responds when Carter returns. If they still are Sh***** the bed, then move some under performing assets to try and upgrade the organizational talent for next season.

noticed that too, was wondering who was putting forth that kind of effort to break into the play

on one hand i want to say that i'd rather have pearson shoot in that situation, but he took an AWFUL shot so he really should have passed it

16-9-2 against non-Pacific teams without Carter. That's 103 points in 82 games. That's good enough for a playoff spot. I'd like to know what gets into this team when they play the division. 4-9-2 without Carter. That's a 55 point team. 1-4-1 at home w/o JC. How are they only half as good against the Pacific? If they were terrible against the Central, ok. They have a respectable record there though.

Ditto
It was like under Sutter when every zone entry was shot from the blue line no matter the numbers. I am going to bleach my brain and erase this game

That record is also skewed to the first couple months of the season when LA played mostly teams outside their division. The last 2 months LA has played more Western con teams

Don't forget they they didn't lose their first game in regulation until Oct 23

Hey, it was a weird situation according to Fox! Can we chalk this whole month as "one big weird situation?"

On a serious note, I'm so done with Fox.

I guess we should just chalk up 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18 as all being weird seasons, full of unfortunate bounces.

The past four years will be recognized as the "unfortunate luck" era.

I got fed up with Jim Fox last night as well. His homerism has reached new heights.

But don't forget the years we won the cups! You know how the past kings teams is relevant to today's team!

It is strange that the Kings went from a team where I was like man was I wrong to man how right I was. I remember seeing Bill Lindsay look at the Kings and ask where is the scoring going to come from. A non playoff team that added Cammy, who had been done, Folin and Kuemper. They needed goals, they did not get any. Still, they played like a totally different team and then something happened. Fall behind early, score no goals in the first, look totally flat then try to turn it on in the 2n half of the game. It's been the same game for awhile now.

Bob's class and stature seems to have kept him in check.

I like Faust a lot, but he's the new kid on the block and now Fox's fanboyism is taking over. It's awful.

How is a 16-9-2 non-Pacific record skewed by playing teams outside of the division?

They're 10-10-2 since Dec 1st, which includes 8-4-1 against non-Pacific teams. 3-4-1 since they hit the skids after Dec 9th, but that's still better than 2-6-1 against the Pacific in that same time.

I can't remember the last time they exited a period with the lead.

Those arguments really don't matter. What matters is what has happened since the Kings collapse in the standing. Kings had the second best record in the NHL and first in the pacific division and were in a playoff position. Now none of that is true and still nose diving in the standings.

You're blaming Fox for trying to keep viewers interested in the telecast i.e. saving ratings after watching the LA Kings train wreck lately?Or the fact he loves his job and the team he played for?

Again look to Ducks Hayward, the Sharks guy and the Coyotes as total idiotic homers not Jim Fox.Even throw in the moron that is with the Pens broadcast team. Many people over the years attack Bob for his broadcasting.Even attacking him at the last couple years cause he was messing up names due to his health but his heart was young and full of love for his job and the Kings that he continue to work the broadcast team.

I didn't care if he messed up all the team players name, it was just nice hearing Bob's voice on the tv during the games.Just now have people figured out how lucking we were to have such class and excellence for so long as fans.I always appreciated Bob since 82 cause he taught me a game i truley love to watch.Fox was part of that team for 27 years.

If Bob thought he was good and I'll take Bobs opinion on Jim Fox who worked with him for 27 years.Jus sayin

The Kings are now out of a playoff spot.Carter alone isn't going to make this team a cup contender or fix the holes in the roster. Its the same holes this team has had for several years and it's not getting fixed by Carter returning.Carter isn't a top 4 defensemen nor is this idea Ladue is going to solve that hole.Stevens is part of the problem since day one he was announced as head coach.Kings players are also at fault, and Kopi and leadership are fully to blame for this train wreck.Doughty has no business being a Alternate Captain. The guy is way too immature.Last game Doughty is whining to the Refs over a play as the linesmen are about to drop the puck.Brown had to yell at Doughty to stop and get back in the game.Kopi stood there.Brown is the true Captain not Kopi, the walking C.

Please don’t prove Mike Millbury right
All you've to do is YouTube the words Mike Millbury and know the man is a embarrassment.Nothing this man says can be mistaken as respectable.Remember the fail of Millbury during the Kings trade of Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter?
