1. Highly unlikely.
2. Even if he did, nobody will be taking Quick's contract.

Toronto may entertain a Nylander for Quick + salary dump player deal. I not advocating that, nor am I sure they either team would be looking for such a deal, but Toronto needs an an elite playoff goaltender to get them to the promised land, particularly with their porous defense and elite offense, they might consider such a swap, even losing 10 years in age talent wise and Quick's injury history. It would be interesting for sure. Kings could go with Campbell/Petersen next season and in the future. Yep, neither really proven or NHL playoff tested, so it would be a huge risk/reward move by the Kings.

I doubt it. Kyle Clifford will be 28 at the end of the year, he could make around a million a year somewhere for the next couple of years. Hard to pass that up.
Yeah, Clifford may be a stiff to many here, but he is regarded as a stand up guy around the league and a vet that does it the right way.

He will easily get another 1 or 2 year deal with a team looking to add some leadership for a young core.

Kokatemi played well for the Habs he was their lone bright spot.

It kind of bothers me that Carter and Kempe scored against one of the worst teams in the league but I'm hoping that it starts them scoring again.

I guess a goal is a goal and a win is a win.

Let's Go Kings!!!

No they don't need quick Andersen has been excellent for them

You suggesting that Toronto sends us Nylander and we send them Quick + a shitty contract? That's the kind of thing that gets people booed off the trade board.

Salary dump was the incorrect wording on my part, I'm saying we would have to move more salary to make room for making a deal with Nylander. And I'm not advocating for such a trade, but I think it could be interesting considering Quick is consistently getting hurt, and it's not going to get better in the future.

Seems like Toronto would be considering that in their calculations as well. If the Leafs are gonna trade Nylander, it really should be for a defenseman.

The Leafs aren't going to pay their goalies $11m on the cap. Let alone take even more cap space on top of that.

The Leafs can't take back cap space for Nylander, and the Kings can't not get rid of cap space for Nylander. There's no trade between the two teams that makes sense. Certainly not involving Quick, unless the Kings would be taking Andersen back in the trade. Even then, the Nylander portion still doesn't work. People have thrown around Toffoli/Muzzin. If a fast Toronto team wanted two guys that look like they're skating in sand half the time, that's over $8m in cap space going to Toronto, which is why Nylander isn't signed. They can't take that much cap back for the 19-20 season. Not while they don't know what Matthews and Marner are going to make.

For the next few years, there won't be many trades where the Kings will come out ahead. Too much cap space locked up, and too few expiring deals. They can do Gaborik/Phaneuf type stuff, but there's no getting a good young player for the old guys with big contracts.

Good lord the officiating sucked tonight, especially in the second. They called that period like there was a quota! I was totally surprised when they overturned the MTL goal, when clearly there was interference.

Good to see other guys score beside the top line. Kempe goal was pretty sweet, dick move at the end when the MTL player tripped him into the boards. Great job by Campbell once again to get his first shutout.

That Price contract is a killer.

I don't understand Montreal and their fascination with smaller players. 10 of the 16 forwards on their roster are 6 foot or under. I get the speed component, but even with the way the league is headed now big and fast is better than small and fast. They had some good chances tonight, but many of them were either on the perimeter or so close to goal that they didn't have an angle. I don't remember any instances where a player backed off into the high slot to get a better shot.

Looking at the chart, they had three shots from the slot tonight. Of those 3, two were right at the crease and one a few feet out from it. Nothing else between the circles all the way out to the blue line, its completely barren. The Kings had one shot from the crease, two more in close, then 6 between the circles in the highers slot, including a goal. The Kings really protected that high slot tonight, making it easier on Campbell, who was fantastic again.

If Jones couldn't make Quick expendable, Campbell won't either.

That was what, four/five years ago? Quick has a similar career as Mike Richter and they both rely heavily on their athleticism. Richter had injuries and broke down at the end of his career and the Rangers suffered because of it. I don’t want the Kings to suffer the same fate.

You can tell they’re trying to feed JAD for that first goal.

What a game for Jack Campbell, and solid yet again. This kid has come a long way from his struggles in Dallas to where he’s at now.

Another one of Ranford’s miracle turnovers.

Imoo too. He and Ranford actually coached him, something he never got in Dallas. They broke down his style and corrected his mistakes. Great job by both and they've turn the Kings into a place where young goalies want to go to learn how to be an NHL goaltender.

It's going to be tougher and tougher for Stevens to justify playing some of these veterans over younger players. It doesn't matter that JAD is a junior aged player, if he is one of LA's top 12 forwards (and he is), he needs to be up and not sent down until his junior team is eliminated. Can't think about down the road if you think you are contenders, and Kopitar and Doughty aren't getting any younger. The Kings are simply a better team with JAD playing than they are with Thompson, Clifford, Lewis (so far). I think the same could be argued for Wagner.

We dominated in the face-off circle -- 61.7% - 38.3%. Amadio was 2-0, Carter was 9-2, Kopi 14-8, and Kempe a respectable 3-3. Thompson was our worst at 8-9 (47%).

Clifford played the least amount of minutes, 8:42 (but did have the most hits, 6). Maybe he's the next to go down and/or perhaps Wagner plays next game.

The kids all got a a good bump in time, JAD 11:51, Amadio 13:16, LaDue 13:47. Kempe only got 10:18 (he did have a penalty).

Thompson played 14:37, and 4:27 SH, a minute and a half more than Kopi. Most of us want Kopi to start getting easier minutes.

Hopefully the kids keep playing their way into more icetime. I really hope JAD continues to establish himself so that Stevens has no choice but to leave him on the roster when Brown comes back

They beat Price 3x's which is no easy thing, regardless of the team in front of him. If it had been the 3rd stringer, yeah I could see that.
