Honestly, the return is such shit that Fletcher should have called G's bluff that he'd only waive to Florida. Forced G's hand, and he'd likely waive to Colorado or elsewhere. At least make G sweat until the actual deadline. But Fletcher is an inept p***y.

It's apparently part of a chain Zito set up. If the Panthers were somehow to drop to the top 10 this year, the 2022 #1 they traded to Buffalo in the Reinhart deal would become the '23 #1. That required a condition on the Chiarot deal where if they don't have their '23 #1 as a result of the Reinhart deal, the pick becomes the '24 #1, which would then impact the deal we just made, forcing the pick to be delayed to '25.

hahaaaaaa... this deal just keeps getting worse n worse...

I call BS on that.... if speculation is correct than G flat out f**** the Flyers. Fletcher is a douche because he should've told the Panthers and G to f themselves.... Only way I would do it if I was Fletch is if its understood that G really is coming back this off season. Than it makes some sense so I reserve my judgement until the off season.... One question I would have..... Why the hell were you so hell bent on going to Florida???? So many options that are just as good... must be his agent pushing this narrative because of taxes....something doesn't seem right tbh... I mean Panthers have never ever been a desired destination lol
He’s going to play ten games in Florida. The taxes aren’t playing a significant role here. Over the course of a lifetime of a contract? Sure.

He didn’t f*** the Flyers. He had a NMC. That’s the purpose of having that in a contract. Giroux has no obligation to the Flyers at this point unless he was staying put. He was free to flex his muscle.

Fletcher targeted the wrong players as he has many times before. After all his biggest defender has admitted that to be his biggest fault. There’s no getting around that one.

That 2024 first is worth way more than a 22 or 23 first in my eyes. The further out the pick is the better as it increases the chances that the dinosaurs go extinct and we get some fresh blood management to make that pick, and at the very least they'd be gone when the pick is being taught how to play the game. I would have wanted an even later pick if we could have got it.

its the fact he did it.... bottom gunna bottom
It’s a non issue. We have zero plans for the cap space. They I believe would not have fit g in without it. It (I think) had to be done. It’s the least egregious part of the trade.
The trade as is should have been Tippett, 1,3 for G. No other parts moved unless contracts needed to be moved for limits.

Did we ever learn if Rubstov was the prospect that was playing so much Fortnite (or whatever game) that it messed with his development?

I 100% agree that Fletch sucks.... its astonishing how bad..... but G flat out f*** him and the franchise (which is us the fans)... Really disappointed in Claude (for now). If there was a friendship with a key Panther or coach he wanted to play for I'd get tying our hands but there seems like no apparent ties to Florida why put Cuck in a position in which he definitely gets a sh** return. Give him at least a few options.... Sundin did something similar to the Leafs years ago ( he refused to waive his NMC ...fans were furious) but the difference imo was Sundin signed a team friendly contract to extend with the Leafs (G got paid in full)...Anyway Fletch sucks but G is a major reason why this trade is sh**... we should make him accountable like every other player or GM that does something that negatively impacts the team imo

Yeah, you work with the player in this situation, not against the player. He was our franchise player and always loyal. Pretty ridiculous to suggest we play mind games in this situation for a better return.
