Was hoping for the Avs if only for an easier path. The East in rounds 2 and 3 are probably going to be emotionally and physically draining. If the Panthers can progress, they may gas out by the Final.

The return is about what was expected... for G alone. Jettisoning Rubtsov and Bunny is meh, but having to also add another draft pick is some kind of special. Three extra assets moved is somewhat annoying.

I've never seen of Tippett outside the NHL, but I know he's the guy a lot of you were preparing for and already weren't happy about it.

If G had a handshake deal to re-sign with the Flyers, I'm not sure that it's such a bad deal. If he's gone for good... ehhh.

This is the calm reasonable description of my feelings too. Was hoping Avs as I could easily cheer for them and their shot at a cup is so much easier. The Fla thing don’t make sense but it’s done now, so good luck G and your welcome back in July.

It's apparently part of a chain Zito set up. If the Panthers were somehow to drop to the top 10 this year, the 2022 #1 they traded to Buffalo in the Reinhart deal would become the '23 #1. That required a condition on the Chiarot deal where if they don't have their '23 #1 as a result of the Reinhart deal, the pick becomes the '24 #1, which would then impact the deal we just made, forcing the pick to be delayed to '25.

That’s a really tough return for a player of Giroux’s caliber. Seems like Giroux kind of screwed them out of some better options.

who knows the full truth, but unless Giroux really !@#$ed the Flyers on his way out the door by only wanting Florida, Chuck Fletcher just chose Owen Tippet over Justin Barron and a first round pick 2 years further away. Incredible.

It takes two to tango, if Zito knows G turned down Colorado, he holds all the cards.

Tippett has value, maybe not so much for the Flyers and their surplus of RWs, but he's still a real asset, he may have struggled in the NHL this year, but looked solid as a rookie and in the playoffs. He's not Bunnaman. He'd be considered at least as valuable as Frost, probably more.
