Okay,, he's struggling right now (as is his crappy team), but a little perspective: He's 19, and after the worst stretch of his short career is still pacing for 59 points. Any 19-year-old getting 59 points is, like, quite good.

-- Draisaitl didn't score 59 points until his third season
-- Jack Hughes paced for 45 points at age 19
-- MacKinnon paced for 48 points at age 19

Let's wait until the kid starts shaving and can buy booze in Chicago before we write him off as some sort of a failure...
In a vacuum sure. But the key differences in his situation is that a) he has more pressure on him than those three combined, and b) he's getting worse which is a worrying trend. He's visibly less dynamic than last year. The weight of the pressure can be a lot for a 19 year old, especially if he's not performing. You can see it on his face and body language. Chicago would be well advised to do something.

Connor Bedard was hyped at the retail level in his daft year. And was compared to Mcdavid or Crosby. But as his first year came and went , the hardcore fans and analysts were not as onboard with it anymore.

Something changed. We even have some fans trying to upsell Jack Hughs and Logan Cooley on him.

Now it's not considered serious to compare him to Mcdavid or Crosby. Why is this ?
Upsell? I think Hughes at this point is legit far better.

I don't see anyone taking Cooley over him

He was not considered to be anywhere near Crosby or McDavid.. but he was the clear first overall pick

Beddard is not underrated--he is still predicted to be one of the best players in the league--just not Generational
Clearly he wasn't the rightful 1st overall pick

Nonsense. Hes 5'10 185 compard to Crosby who's 5'11 200. He needs to bulk up sure but that's it. He'll be fine once he does so.

Michkov has more talent on his team.
Michkov plays on the 4th line with Richard and Cates the last 3 games and put up 5 points in 3 games + S/O winner.

He hasn't played in the top 6 or with talent in nearly 2 weeks. He also has a lot less TOI than Bedard and is forced to play defense or get benched unlike Bedard.

Bedard is in a far more offensive idea situation..top line, top PP, Michkov is currently 54% second unit PP, 46% 1st unit PP.

So in short, nah, you're wrong.

With that being said, Bedard is clearly an elite player, just watch the games and stop looking at the damn stats.

90% of the people who comment on Michkov don’t watch him currently and didn’t watch him when he was coming up, literally nothing he’s doing is surprising, the angle goals, the crazy IQ he’s showing. Not one bit of any of this is surprising, he’s been doing this since he was 15 on the biggest stages that exist for his age group.

Bedard is going to fine he’s 19, just a rough patch. People need to relax lol

This season could be amazing for the Blackhawks. His performances last year showed he's the real deal among an atrocious team.

Have a dip season, sign him to $9m or below for 8 years ASAP and that'll be one of the best contracts in the NHL within 3 years.

I thought Kyle Davidson surrounded Bedard with some vets. What happened to Hall, Teravainen and Bertuzzi?
Agreed, they’re better than last year, those are cope posts. But I do think Bedard has more to give, 19 year olds in the best league in the world sometimes have tough patches. The generational tag has f***ed Bedard on this board, no one in that draft is generational, no one is or will be McDavid, who was the last guy like that.
