Michkov has more talent on his team.

That's a generous 5-10, he looks tiny out there in comparison. But still, he's smaller, weighs less and is weaker. His style just seems it would be better as a winger as well.

Michkov is scoring the majority of his points on the PP, not with a 4C and ahl winger.

Bedard and Co are not getting it done though.

It's quite clear that he won't hit McDavid's level, but Marner as his best case result... come on.

Bedard can do more through the neutral zone than Michkov so I think that he's more likely to be the better player. Both are on the small side and lack strong straight-line speed thus there are limits to what they can do. Both are brilliant with the puck on their stick inside the offensive blue line; that's when they can really dominate. Marner could only dream of shooting the puck the way that they can.

I would be surprised if Bedard doesn't win at least one scoring title. Marner's top finishes are 4th (in the shortened season) and 10th, and a long way behind the top two guys in both cases. Bedard has far more goal scoring potential.

Yeah that was my main point, I don’t get it. Bertuzzi has many years of playing with stars and having success. Bedard is struggling and yet they’ve only played 18 minutes together all season.

All I can think is that Bertuzzi isn’t the fastest skater and wouldn’t be great on rush chances, but that’s only one aspect of the game. Bertuzzis a great passer and could probably set up Bedard well at times. Just last season Bertuzzi was on Matthews wing during his hottest goal scoring streak.

When people talked about Bedard, especially compared to Michkov, they insisted Bedard was "generational" and multiple levels above Michkov. My point is, that neither are true.

As for Michkov, it's silly to slight him. He has more points than Bedard, Carlsson, and Fantilli this year. And it's his first year in the league, in a new country, and he doesn't even speak English.

For the record, I think Bedard is going to be just fine... a superstar in the NHL. However, my reply was in regards to him being called "underrated" which is crazy. Right now, he's definitely overrated if anything. And possibly severely overrated. Just being honest.
