Samsonov going to arbitration or something? There is a second buyout period /opportunity coming .
Samsonov going to arbitration or something? There is a second buyout period /opportunity coming .
We can’t have that 2M cap hit next season.
Samsonov will be filing. his QO is around 2 million. Expected arbitration is 4.5 million. could get interesting. They can only buy him out if they have a player goes to arbitration.
They can only buy him out if they have an arbitration case that opens the 48hr buyout window. Perhaps Samsonov will request arbitration if he hasn't already. There is no gaureenteed second window. And the Leafs can just buy him out. Oh wow over such a barrel the Leafs are!
You believe Murray has positive value at 50% retained? YikesThere was also more term + money.
Not to mention that if a team decided to retain 50% on Murray right now, he probably gets positive value. We can't afford to do that, but another team may be able to.
The Leafs can create a buyout window on July 6 if Samsonov doesn't file on the 5th. The team can elect arb.People won't be happy when Arizona relieves the pressure
3rd and a 6th was the cost to dump 2 years.
Can't be higher than that for 1 year. Worst case a buyout solves the problem this year
This … over a barrel . lolThe Leafs can create a buyout window on July 6 if Samsonov doesn't file on the 5th. The team can elect arb.
Except he was traded to Buffalo prior to going to Leafs ( he squashed it ) so there was other interest . Not too far fetched to think a year later with one year less term that there might be takers . Failing that they can easily make it work via buyout ( handling the 2 million dead cap next year is doable w rising cap ) . No 1 st will be harmed .Dude... No.
Murray has zero positive value at any cap hit. Sens fans were SHOCKED Toronto took him at all. No other GM is making that mistake without at least a 2nd round pick (or equivalent) coming back as a sweetener.
If he was a UFA his phone would have rang 2-3 times and at least one of those calls would have been a wrong number calling about the other Matt Murray.
I think I saw someone post it, but what's the cap hit look like? The Leafs can create a buyout window on July 6 if Samsonov doesn't file on the 5th. The team can elect arb.
It would probably cost you a 2nd but I doubt anyone will take one 3 years off, so equivalent value...a 3rd and a 5th? 3rd & 4th? A prospect not named Knies?
I didn't say LTIR in the playoffs. There is no salary cap in the playoffs. I said LTIR for next season.
Buffalo was interested in trading up from 16 to 7. Murray was how they would do it.Except he was traded to Buffalo prior to going to Leafs ( he squashed it ) so there was other interest . Not too far fetched to think a year later with one year less term that there might be takers . Failing that they can easily make it work via buyout ( handling the 2 million dead cap next year is doable w rising cap ) . No 1 st will be harmed .
We will know if there is a buyout option byThursday at 5:00pm. I assume Treliving plans on LTIR for Murray but I doubt Murray will be on board.
don't see Arizona spending 6M in real dollars to get a few draft picks.People won't be happy when Arizona relieves the pressure
Not unless you're Lou, anyway. He could do it.That matters the most. You can't put players on LTIR against their will.
If they go through arbitration the Leafs can walk away from anything over 4 M. They can negotiate up to the say arbitration is heard, but if it goes through it will be a 1 or 2 year contract award.I think I saw someone post it, but what's the cap hit look like?
