GDT: Germany vs Canada, Group A; Dec 28, 2024, 7:30 Eastern

That one rush on the power play is the only time I’ve noticed McKenna’s speed. He obviously has some wheels: why is he coasting so much of the time?

Yea that's true, he's more of a hardworking two way wing. That being said he's leading Canada in points.

2nd line has looked great tonight. Canada's bottom 6 is awful though outside of Luchanko.
Yeah that’s fair.

Yeah the bottom 6 is really where I’m just battled, Gauthier is solid and I’ve like him overall but why is cataford on the team and Beaudoin’s??? Anyways

This team is low IQ and low skill. Wow.
McKenna carries the puck rink long, goes wide and sucks the German defender with him… centre’s the puck and there’s three Germans in the slot. Every other Canadian player was up at the blue line. This is a wretched pp.

lol pointing out the flaws in your argument is playing the victim now?
Because anyone who doesn’t follow your flawed logic must be biased right?

Sure he has a great wrist shot young players have tried to copy but if any of them pay attention to his game they would see him one timing the puck multiple times a game as well.
You'll be shocked to know that 15 year old CHL players aren't religiously watching every Leaf game like you may be.

Experience Dave Cameron hockey

You merely adopted Dave Cameron hockey.

I’m from Ottawa. I was born in it.

Back to back games we've been outworked by Latvia and Germany.

This is as much a coaching issue as it is a player's one.

Beaudoin at least brings size. Really don't like Yager or Howe.

Cristall and Parekh needed to be on the team. Lindstrom instead of a Cataford for example could have helped too (I know he's hurt I meant hypothetically in a world where he's healthy).

To be fair, McKenna has to be aware his team is a bit behind the play as the puck carrier and should've slowed the play down to adjust instead of committing to driving the net and centering the puck to nobody. Or at the very least drive it to the net if he's committed to going in alone.

Why is Beau Akey stapled to the pine, even when we have injuries? He might not be the big offensive X factor we're missing but to my eye he hasnt had a bad shift when called on, and his skating is a plus.
