Here
The next 4 games opponents have a combined winning percentage of .423.

With the recent games they've dropped, the leads they've lost and points they should've picked up if the Rangers secure less than 2 wins its very possible Gallant could be canned.

Aside from that - if the Rangers want to improve their chances of making the playoffs theyll need to get at least 6 out of a possible 8 points here. Maybe even run the table - because:

The following 4 games the opponents have a combined winning percentage of .725

Its make or break time
Quoting my own post from this past Tuesday

Hate to say it but he’s done here. The team plays with zero effort or fight. Need a hard ass coach

It’s almost as if taking Laf and Kakko out of the top 6 was a god awful decision

I mean, Jimmy Vesey single handedly turns high danger scoring chances to score for into mid danger and low danger, and has been for 3.5 seasons.

Dude still needs to settle the puck for a second every time it comes to him, and never shoots it right away. Every time he gets the puck on the rush, he settles the puck, stickhandles once or twice, then usually tries to make a telegraphed pass or guides the puck right into the goalie's pad. Bonus points if the pass to him was of the cross ice variety.

Literally did some variation of the above another 3 times last night just based on the eye test.

God forbid you put Kakko on that line and tell him for every game he puts 4 shots on net, he can start the next game on PP1.

He needs to grow some balls and call the players out. Specific players. We need some accountability here

This makes me want to scream.

We all saw Kakko playing well on the 1st line. He was not only inexplicably taken off and never put back on it.

Even Laf was setting up plays for Panarin.

It’s like Gallant tried to fix the overall depth, but killed Top 6 at the alter of the kids to do it.

Well....I'm not vetted...but I was informed of this an hour ago . Believe what you want . I'm not going to mention any names[but I could ] !!! but it was told by one of our bench staff...it goes like this when this family member was asked the question.....Will so and so be home at Christmas .....and so and so's parent answered....." So and so told us apparently there is a bad divide in the room and the boys figure they will be fired by Christmas ....so yes....they likely will be home ".

So....in saying that.....the staff knows that they just can't fix it with a benching or two and now we do know that the room indeed has a problem . Season is lost fellows.....and that might be the best thing instead of trading away our prospects and youth to get Dolan playoff revenue......but it is the Rangers and we know what comes next.......

One thing I was thinking about when reading about Gallants perceived lack of accountability, when he blames losses on all the back to backs that they have had the players turn in efforts like they did last night. It's like the excuse is already baked in when things start going wrong.

A " divided room " seldom ends well for a coach IMO especially when the #1 source of the problem is not tradable . Make no mistake about it......Drury having to fire Gallant to attempt to fix this problem also puts him in the hot seat as he hired Gallant and crew . He would have a year or so of leeway to make sure things are fixed under a new coach or he would be unemployed . Other than getting Panarin to buy in or trade off futures his hands are tied if he is considering the greater good of the club and not his own future .

I'd jettison a few and go for Bedard at this stage . Hire a few young sluggers and make us the Sabres back in the day when they had a team of thugs like Barnaby-May-Ray-Boughner-Hughes and kids and a GREAT goalie until we get rid of a couple of the anchors . We would lose a lot for a season or so but also be in the mix very quickly . Gives the kids some room to spread there wings without fear of being benched and or sat out for stretches.....and maybe Tocchet would be the proper coach for a team like that !Definitely somebody that can handle player development .

this is it for me. I want to give Gallant a lot of leeway because of how the playoffs went last year, so many times we were down and out and then came out the next period and kicked ass. you have to give a coaching staff some credit for that. but these lines are horrible. he stumbled into one of the best lines in the NHL and then broke it up to put Jimmy f***ing Vesey on the first line. it's absolutely unreal.

Last season 2 things happened
Kreider and Igor had career seasons
Igor was historically great and CK played twice as good than any season prior
They carried the team
They covered the worts
This year the worts r still there but these 2 arent coming close to producing like last year. I actually predicted this and im not shocked at all that we are a bubble team.
GG allowing the vets to run the team and decide for themselves when to get off the ice is one glaring mistake when it comes to fixing the worts
The handling of the kids also
He showed his true colors in the POs and his time here wont be long

If we were guaranteed Bedard id be all for that, but the problem is if you purposely tank to go for him (or anyone) things could really backfire. Its already in a tailspin. This team is skilled enough not to be THIS bad. They arent perfect by any means but better than this by a long shot.

The real problem was this team / brass / owner got way ahead of themselves and didnt properly run through first base with the rebuild. Some of us saw it coming, then the canning of JD and Gorts happened and that solidified it.

The Wilson incident was the thing that set it all in motion. Talk about overreacting to one event that will seemingly define a decade long stretch of faulty team architecture.

Divided room between who? The coaches and players?
