Alright manga readers, help me out. I've been trying to get into manga for the first time recently and I need some suggestions. I think I'm geared towards the newer stuff, considering I prefer to watch anime adaptations instead if they're available. I just ordered the first volumes of Kaiju No. 8 and Dandadan. Any must-haves?

Netflix Canada (can't say for other regions), has put up the first 30 episodes of Monster. I remember it being really good, so I'll have to rewatch it.
I think they were up in the US prior because I've seen people complaining about the quality.

I am not a manga fan and I don't know what you've read in the past, but Gantz is a must have for any mangaist. It's definitely R/X-Rated (if you don't mind that stuff) and has a horrible ending (just so you are prepared), but everything in-between is ridiculously good. The art style is also insane.

Hunter x Hunter is also a must read, but I had to drop it because it was a huge choir in some arcs where it's like reading a novel instead of drawings. If you push through it, it could be the best manga ever made even though the author has constant back issues and takes very long hiatus. That's why I never expect the show to ever come back :(

I would avoid Gintama, both the manga and anime are rated extremely high. However, it's heavily influenced in Japanese folk lore and all the jokes are based on Japanese comedy. For me, it was difficult to follow and it has a crazy amount of chapters/episodes. A lot of the stuff went over my head and because of that it came across as an average anime.

Berserk is probably up your ally. And Jojo has been awarded as the best manga for a years', but it's too weird for me to get into, plus you have the anime which I always prefer to watch. You got One-Punch, Mob Psycho, Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, Noragami, and The Promised Neverland all in further manga mode storylines as well.

I really enjoyed Season 3 of MP100, Ranking of Kings, and Link Click. All three have my seal of approval.

Decided to watch an hour-long Bleach recap and start the final season. Three episodes in an I'm already flooded with nostalgia. Shit is so hype.

They did in the US. I was trying to watch it and realized it isn’t even half the series. Netflix is the worst.

Well I finally found a hyped anime that I do not care about. Just finished episode 13 of Jujutsu Kaisen and the show is just not doing it for me. I assume eps 12 and 13 were supposed to be the final hook to get you invested in the show (at least these episodes seem to be top ~5 ranked episodes). The cursed energy stuff seemed uninteresting, the pacing felt off and even the animation didn't wow me.
(Unpopular opinion: I would say MAPPA is overrated, outside Chainsaw Man)
I had a similiar feeling with Demon Slayer, where I liked the show enough to watch it, but wasn't too invested in it. Until the Mt Natagumo Arc, which made me appreciate the whole sesason a lot more and a fan of the show.

So, dropping JJK for now and maybe I'll finally get myself to start FMAB. I really need a show to watch to distract me from the wait of the new AoT and Demon Slayer.

Season 4 wasn't as good visually as the previous seasons, but the feels was still there

Always get my hype juice flowing

---

Anime I'm looking forward to next season

Insomniacs After School - I read the manga and it was really good
Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage - Season 1 was excellent

I have not been watching a lot of anime lately, need to catch up on Chainsaw man, Spy X Family part 2, Yowamushi Pedal, mp100 3, mha s6, and To Your Eternity 2nd Season.

9 episodes in the second season of Vinland Saga and I'm ready to crown this show as the most overrated anime. I just don't understand how these episodes are so hyped and high-rated. Absolutely nothing has happened, the characters are getting more boring every episode. I'm glad it seems that Mappa didn't use their best effort for this show.

Yeah season 2 has been a huge let down. It doesn’t even resemble the 1st. Pacing is way off and borderline boring.

What you're not enjoying Farmland Saga?

(I'm assuming that's where the story is at)

Maybe a bit misleading as while the first story arc is medieval mayhem the overall theme is leaning towards pacifism.

Yeah it's been 9 episodes of Farmland Saga and I'm just so bored that I don't even care anymore if the story picks up. I already thought that season 1 was quite boring and every time things seemed to pick up, the story would just fall flat again. The end of season 1 was pretty good and I read all this hype, how amazing season 2 is going to be. Then we get this...

Demon Slayer is definitely back and I don't know how they manage to make it look so good with such a short time. The animation again looks to be on a whole different level, the character designs get even better and better, and now it even the plot/story looks like it might get really good. Really looking forward to this season!

Also Kaguya-Sama came back as well with the 4-part 'movie' and it really reminded me why it is the best romcom of all-time. Really excited where they take the story in the future. 10/10

There was also a short 13-episode show Tomo Chan is a Girl which really caught me off-guard. The certain duo of supporting characters in this show is one of the best that I've ever seen. 9+/10

Finally got my around to start FMAB (10 episodes in) and I've also just reached the 3rd season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Oregairu) and I really love it.

Both Heavenly Delusion and Insomniacs After School are my stand outs so far. Granted I've only watching two shows this season

What a perfect time to start SNAFU. There is an OVA scheduled for late April set
after the events of season 3
