Not trying to defend Joey but assists do mean something. You're helping the team to score, putting people in spots or situations to put the puck in the net.

Agree with Vertigo here...primary assists obviously mean more than secondary assists but Joey did squat on Neal's goal to deserve any credit.

Joey had the puck from a standstill position, with Neal bursting down the wing. Some players would just dump the puck in, but he dealt it to Neal instead who wrister it top corner. It was a good play. Wasn't spectacular obviously, but it was a good play.

No. It was the play every kid growing up is told to make in that situation. You hold it on the wing and play it to the guy moving up the lane with speed.

The kid oozes talent, but motivation has been an issue for him for several years. I even wonder how much of a stretch it is to suggest his numbers last season were from being motivated by the All-Star Game in his team's city?

Who's to say his play this year was because his team started 0-8 and the FO made no attempt to make the defense better? Then adjusting to a new coaching style. Hmmm. Goes both ways.

Where was that elite skill during those 8 games. Elite players make a difference. Joey DID NOT.

I've seen some posts about Joey..... Joey was picked by a past GM who is now freezing his blank off in Edmonton, he picked Joey because at the time we had a need for center for Rick Nash.....

Joey was rushed into service and expected to save the CBJ, he was too young... Joey is talented and someday I hope he makes the CBJ sorry they messed him up...

That said, moving him after Torts came was a solid move...

Vo that is bs. You will learn.

But for Werenski what I said is fine??

Kind of like Milano. Skilled players often look like that way, because they don't have to just go all over the ice like a crazy person. They know what they are doing. Same with Murray and Wennberg. Smart hockey players look "lazy" compared to players like Boll.

Seemed agreed apon with Zach but maybe that's because he hasn't "given up on his team"

Not saying he reason but moving away from Figs and Saader after having great chemistry could have something to do with that. Or frustration could be making him not be on his game. Also doesn't help when your coach calls you out nationally after the first game, when you had a heart condition

Quite a few jackets I wish we would have given a chance to sort out the mental side before moving on from them. Voracek being one. Once he got his confidence back in Philly we see what happened

Well... Been a little while since I felt that embarrassed watching us get absolutely crushed from start to finish.

But I'm going to try and sleep with positive mindset tonight while dreaming of us sucking up the rest of way and somehow getting Matthews...

Hey, I have irrational love for a player we traded, but I am first and last a CBJ fan. I don't hang out on the opposing team's board bashing the Jackets or lament the trade and defend the player every time we play them. My point is, it's possible to be loyal to a favorite without the embarrassing public angst.

Good night all.

It's also possible to be for the trade and still like Joey. Which I do on both counts.
