It seems like it's been years since Columbus beat Chicago. I honestly don't even remember the last win... looks like it's 12 L's in a row.

The overreaction from playing the reigning Stanley Cup champions in their ****ing barn is crazy. Did anyone honestly expect to win this game? If it's a blowout, good, it'll wake their ***** up for tomorrow.

Go in to the game expecting bad things, bad things happen then people freak and act like the team was expected to go undefeated the rest of the season. Just another day here. I'd rather lose 10-1 vs a streak of 1-10

One thing that disappoints me more than the scoreboard, it seems like they have quit on mcBackup. He's on an island. This feels like old CBJ under Nash. They look like they've quit.

No, I didn't say they are the old CBJ. I said they are looking like it right now.

If I'm Richards I'm already planning my goaltending rotation from here on out.

Bobrovsky plays every game except:

Fri March 29 (Pittsburgh)
Friday April 4 (Chicago)

Don't even waste Bob's legs on back to back games against those teams. We're far from a select few teams in this league no matter who's in net.

And we've seen less than two periods of truly terrible hockey and some are writing off the season? This game? Probably, but no need to make it bigger than it is. Chicago has been playing poorly, recently, but they're still a very good team.

I admire you Pete. Posts like this are what keep me around.

It's nice knowing that there's still some intelligent life around here.

Believe me when I say this, the trade deadline was an absolute kick in the nuts to this squad. To a man, they were expecting to add (and i don't mean Frattin and Schultz).

I think you're usually dead on, but the idea that this club was sitting around waiting to be rescued by a front office move doesn't make sense to me in the least.

Is Johansen getting benched?
Benching him could motivate him in the next game(but if that's the case, why not bench others). Last time he got benched(against Ottawa?) he played well the following game.
Or Richards might be benching him so he doesn't get hurt in a meaningless time of a game(but then again, if you don't want injuries, why not bench others).
So who comes in next game, Tropp or Comeau? I would bring in Comeau as he hits people. Could energize the team?

I like Savard and Prout's play tonight.

Richards looks like he's going to murder someone.

Tough game. Not concerned whatsoever about this team, sometimes you just lay an egg, and when its Chicago you're going to look this bad.

Now if we play with this type of effort in Nashville or Dallas, then it might be time to raise an eyebrow.

I think it goes both ways.

1)players see other teams in the hunt adding. Columbus didn't which might make them think, wtf.

2)On the other hand, bringing no one of significance means management has faith in you and it should give you a confidence boost.

Just because I don't like what Jarmo did at the deadline and don't like the way the team is playing tonight does NOT mean I've given up on this team or this season. Not an overreaction. Just calling them like I see them.

All I've wanted out of this year is that for when it's over, whenever I say "Blue Jacket playoff year", I have to clarify which year it is. That's all I want. We could get outscored 40-0 in each game and I'd still be thrilled.

We're still on track but man was tonight depressing.

Jarmo trading for Gaborik in the first place was a deviation from the brick-by-brick philosophy. Hopefully, we're back on track now.

x2. We're still in the hunt. Our odds dropped for no good reason, is all. And that sucks.

Every season, good or bad generally has a moment where it either began or ended. Lets hope we dont look back at this game and say 'this is where the season ended'. I fully expect them to come out pissed and absolutely destroy Nashville. If they come out and lay another egg, it could be the beginning of the end of 2014 season

omg we lost a game. Why is it that to some of you every time we lose the game it is seen as some defining moment in a season?

please elaborate.

if trading for an oft-injured gaborik is a deviation from brick by brick, then what exactly is giving a massive free agent deal to the oft-injured nathan horton?

brick-by-brick is just a dumb slogan they repeat on every broadcast, just like play the right way. its not like building around johansen and murray is rocket science, its been the plan since howson drafted them

the team played like they were completely deflated by having their front office take away one of their best players and making them worse after they've been fighting like hell to stay in the playoff hunt

The day our season ended??

Against the best team in the league
At their place
Who has beat us 11 straight times
While missing 3 defenseman

If there was one game I'd guarantee we'd lose it's this one.

AND Jarmo or Marian had NOTHING to do with this outcome. They are good. We sucked and are really crippled now on the blue line. IT sucks...but lets see.

Cool story, share it with someone who cares to read your ignorant opinions.
