McDonald’s gets a lot of shit but they’re the best fast food. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to be hipster. I like Five Guys too but they’re playing a different sport.

This team looks like the first year post lockout team. 1 line + a secondary scorer having an unreal year on the PP and amazing goaltending. Panarin and Strome 5v5 are getting outplayed by every team's 4th line in all 3 zones. We have a great 4th line being used too often. Then an AHL+ line that frankly would struggle at that level. Trouba and Miller look tired. Fox looks beat up.

I don't know what Pitt is going to do. Do they have the assets, picks, and cap space to get something done? We have all 3 in spades. Again, you think Pitt is unbeatable for some reason. I don't.
Look I want you to be right. Trust me on that.

McD's has the best coffee. Better than Dunkin or Starbucks.

Shakes are also pretty high up there, but good luck finding a location that doesn't have a broken machine.

The league average save percentage last year was .908. Georgiev had a .905. Slightly below average. He's the backup. That's probably right in line with the average for backups which logically must be lower than .908 since if it were higher than the backups perform better than starters.

The year before it was .910. Georgiev had a .910.

The year before that .910. He was .914.

This year he's performed worse. But having performed bad is not the same thing as is bad.

He's basically exactly what I would expect from a backup. How can you have an above average goalie as backup for cheap without lucking into a young guy on an ELC? If someone was that good they'd be a starter elsewhere. They might perform well because there is a lot of variance in goaltending but that doesn't mean they actually are good.

I really don't care what the most basic goalie stat says about him. Plus the save % is bolstered by him playing average for a stretch of games when Igor was out. When he gets a string of games together he sometimes holds his own. As a backup he's awful. If he doesn't play a string of games you better believe he'll blow the game he does play.

Preach it. The forward corps still needs a lot of talent. A lot of talent they need to find in the draft because they don’t have the cap space to import it in FA.

I suspect Drury isn’t the right GM for this team because he thinks the perfect player is a young 50 point version of himself instead of superstar offensive players.
That's my fear.

Drury was very talented, don't get my wrong, but he was the dean of the Ryan Callahan University of Looking Like You're Doing Things.

He's going to get players like that and consistently think that driving play is hitting and nothing else.

This is the price we pay for that feel good win against Washington. And of course Uncle Larry had to write an article disparaging even that one too.

Drury was also a part of a Stanley cup team. He knows exactly what players are going to be required to win. I trust him more than Gorton. Whole did nothing well with this rebuild.
