I really don't care what the most basic goalie stat says about him. Plus the save % is bolstered by him playing average for a stretch of games when Igor was out. When he gets a string of games together he sometimes holds his own. As a backup he's awful. If he doesn't play a string of games you better believe he'll blow the game he does play.

I highly doubt there is any significance to a difference in play when playing a bunch of games in a row and when playing sporadically but you’re welcome to do the research around the league and seeing how production changes and if georgiev happens to be worse than others that way. But you’re taking a small sample and making it smaller so you probably won’t get meaningful results anyway.

That's my fear.

Drury was very talented, don't get my wrong, but he was the dean of the Ryan Callahan University of Looking Like You're Doing Things.

He's going to get players like that and consistently think that driving play is hitting and nothing else.

Look at his first offseason.

He ran off one of our most skilled players and then added four big, fat nothing burgers: McKegg, Hunt, Reaves and Blais. Four guys who basically add almost nothing to the offense. For a team with an elite goalie and a stable full of defenders. He doesn’t want to add guys who can score.

People say I’m unrealistic because I want a “perfect team.” Perfect team? I want a team that doesn’t ice 5 AHLers every damn night. That’s too much to ask? The fan base has battered spouse syndrome when it comes to expectations of talented forwards.
