GDT: Game #51 Avs @ Sharks May the Fifth & Cinco de Mayo 7:30 MT

the 2 goal lead and losing that way is what bothers me. The amount of shots passed up the last 3-4 games also bothers me

I expect a cup contending team battling for the division and home ice to be able to seal the deal against one of the worst teams in the league with a 2 goal lead with 21 minutes left in a game. If you think me being negative about that and the globetrotter hockey they been playing lately thats fine theres an ignore button you can use.

Breeeeeeaaaattttthe. Tons of hockey left to be played. We have a playoff team that can still win with these injuries and breaks.
I'm pretty happy with where things are given this grind.

These guys are human and there was some experimental stuff happening. Do I like tonight's results?
Hell no.

This team does need to light LA up a couple of times, though. Lol

No schtick. I’m extremely hopeful and delighted about the current state of the Avs. Aren’t you? I paid money to watch the 16-17 season from out of market. I know true misery, as I had trouble finishing most of those games. And most of the seasons from 2011-2017. And I respect his views more than most people. He’s put in the time. It was an honest question.

The Kings especially Quick play the Avs well. I wouldnt expect the Avs to light them up by any means.

Okay, to clarify my stance. Everytime I post for the rest of this thread I am simply going to state “Credit to Mighty Makar but Devon Toews is not Jonathan Toews!”. Every time. Even though no one has said they are the same person. I’m just going to keep yelling it, even though no one has said anything regarding it at all.

Sharks did a good job of shutting down the offense in the third so credit to them. It’s also tough to defend leads and win when your top pair is as bad as Makar and Toews were at times in the defensive zone.

That was some really bad hockey with the extra attacker too. A bunch of one-on-everyone hero hockey instead of actually trying to use that man advantage.

Good on Bednar for calling out the top guys while also acknowledging he knows they’ll bounce back. That’s the way to do it.

He’s also absolutely right about the careless penalties. Far too many lately and that needs to change. We’ve been saying that a lot though and it has yet to change.

Newhook looks like he could be what I’d love from a 2C. He was making quick passes to open people up, and then darting into space himself. I’d love to have a more cerebral, quick decisions guy. We have a lot of players with all world skill that take too long to make a decision and skate themselves out of good spots.

Credit to Mighty Makar, but Devon Toews is not Jonathan Toews!

And that is understandable. It was a hard game to watch for the avs. We had a lead and could've used the win to catch up with Vegas. That being said we have played the sharks 4 times in row and we won 3 out of the 4. As long as the team shows up for our next game I don't think we should give this game so much emphasis. Our team is still dealing with injuries. Stuff happens and teams have bad games.

To ignore anyone here unless they're harassing you is silly to me. And for the record, I respect everyone’s opinions.

I agree with you much of the time. 100% agree with your first paragraph and the first sentence in the second paragraph which said the same thing.

Globetrotter hockey? This celebration of dominant hockey can be said of any top team’s fanbase in any division. Bottom feeders in every division, and every fan base enjoys seeing their team dominate.

Newhook looks like Jaden Schwartz to me. Pretty solid if he can turn into that for the Avs.
