I also don't think the coaching decisions have helped and this is honestly the first time I'm questioning them all year. Rempe hasn't been needed in 2 games. He kills the fourth line.
If we somehow find a way to win, I still think we beat whoever comes out of the West. But I'm not confident we win the next game, let alone the next two.
We have the right pieces, but we also have some very wrong pieces which really negates the good. Zibanejad hasn't been the same since the Burns brutal cross check. Fox hasn't been the same since the first knee injury and even worse since the second.
Panarin... abysmal. Trouba... abysmal. Gus... just slightly better but still awful.
If Panarin, Mika and Kreider were contributing and we had a replacement level player for Trouba... I think this is a different series. But they haven't and it's not.
Trouba, Mika and Panarin have lost this series for us, if we lose on Saturday. Kreider, despite his goal tonight is inching into that territory as well.
