Post-Game Talk: Game 5

It’s a good life lesson that even people who you think are your friends will ratf*** you for a dollar.

Don’t mix business and “friendships.” Ever.
As you get older (and if you learn your lessons) you become better at choosing your friends. I surely did and have no regrets. I also agree on the other things you say re. attitude towards sports, fandom etc. If one gets riled up so much to spit out vile personal insults toward hockey players there’s something wrong in their lives that needs to be looked at and dealt with.

We have one of Ryan Lindenburg or Captain Braincell on the ice like 45 minutes a game.

Forgive me if I'm not that concerned about our centers.
There’s a guy on my beer league team who is slow as molasses and has zero handles, so the puck is essentially in our zone his entire shift. It’s like playing down a man. A good shift is when neither team scores. That’s Lindgren and Trouba.

+ Miller

Yeah, though ultimately it comes down to who's simply physically stronger.
You can will your way past, under, and through people who are stronger. There's ways around it.

It's annoying being a fan on this site because there's a huge amount of gaslighting about the Rangers and anything 'dirty', like Rempe isn't pretty much a boy scout who doesn't know how to control his mass on the ice yet or Trouba throwing 8 big hits a year is somehow a problem in a league where Crosby's been slewfooting people for 15 years and Malkin two hands someone every game for no reason.

Also correct. Still don't care. Don't care if he has to make 80 saves in game 6 for us to win.

He cannot

Allow

More

Than

1

Goal

for us to get past these guys.

I say all this because he is CAPABLE of it. He's just not finding a way to do it. He has to have a Kreider v. Carolina esque game 6 and just say there's nothing getting past me tonight. Again, he's the Messier of this iteration of the Rangers.

What game will Ranger fans remember from this series from him? There's literally not 1.
Then maybe the rest of the f***ing team should do something like score a goal or make a play or defend better. Igor has been under siege for most of this series. He was the main reason they won games 2 and 3. Cmon man.

Oh don’t get me wrong I still enjoy fedposting about dumbf***s on the opposing team. But it’s more from just random enjoyment than hatred or anger over the game 😂😂😂

It seems Pittsburgh wasn’t trading him to us for less than Perrault. Does that make sense?

Um...

Did you see what they wound up getting from Carolina?

What are you not understanding?

Drury didn't want to beat that offer. There are only about 3,000 ways to beat that offer without including a blue chip projected top line forward

We hammer on Kakko for his lack of speed but Panarin is a slow player and that hurts him in these tightly checked games. His first step is terrible and he has no explosiveness for separation.
He's really hockey strong but at the end of the day he's 175 pounds without great wheels.

Throw in how holding happens 5 times a shift every shift and yeah he's gonna get swallowed up a lot.

I'm not sure if you mean that in a good way or not, but Othmann has a long way to go to be to start those comparisons. Miller had obvious high end skill at that age that I don't see with this kid yet.

Othmann is a crippled, blind, deaf, brain damaged, homeless man’s version of Miller

I'm starting to see some posters talk about some of our prospects in the pipeline and how they aren't anything special.

I'm sorry, but the only thing worse than the Rangers in the ECF is this board when it comes to gauging young players. How many players did we have that were supposed to take this franchise over the hump? How many players did we write-off? The same people saying our prospects were nothing special were the very same ones that wanted no part of Schneider or Jones.

And this board only falls harder on it's face when it comes to discussing the possibility of getting a player who was previously injured.

I'd castrate my left nut and eat it if it meant we could have a Jack Eichel instead of a Zibanejad. Guys neck is mostly monkey bones, crazy glue, and duct tape and he's a more physical player than our DJ.

Boyle pretty much made it clear in the post game what he thought when he mentioned how the Tkachuk acquisition changed the entire mentality of the Florida team. Mika is the complete opposite of what Tkachuk brings. Panarin as well to some extent.

I did and by many accounts they wanted much much more from the Rangers. Many rumors said both Perrault and Othman.

He hasn't had an epic performance yet. It's a fact.

He's had some really good performances.

I'm not saying we don't low key kind of suck in front of him. Please don't get it confused. I'm saying this current iteration of the bargain bin trade deadline Rangers is not gonna get over the hump without him putting up some sort of god-like performance.

He didn't do it against Carolina either. They scored a metric f*** ton against us. We won because they thought you could win the Cup with Freddy Andersen as your goalie

Trocheck gets his points from every which way. He carries the puck, gets in the tough areas, deflects pucks, scores from the bumper position. Zibanejad's bag of tricks is not as deep. He gets his on the one timer, off the rush, feeding Kreider to do his net front thing, gets shorthanded points, though Trocheck has this department covered as well.

Mika is a much easier player to shut down. He's a PP and PK specialist at this point in his career.

Brian Boyle definitely knows soft.
