Drury has been a decent GM. But he was a f***ing p***y this deadline. I can’t fathom not beating what Carolina traded. A couple of mediocre prospects and (what became) a 2nd round pick.

Just wild stuff. I’m glad Pittsburgh got f***ed in the deal, though.

it's pretty crazy he went all in last year when you could see the team was a first or second round exit a mile away, and then this year saw them basically be first in the league all season, and got a winger who should be in the KHL, a 4th line center and an 8th dman.

And he had the benefit of LTIR this year with Chytil and Wheeler.

I honestly don't think he's lazy...he simply cannot skate well enough at this level. He has the slowest first 3 steps I think I've ever seen from a player who was supposed to be a star. What really pisses me off is his inability to address it. He's had 5 f***ing years to work on it, yet in week 2 of this season some posters were already talking about what he needed to improve NEXT offseason. The joke's on us & clearly he is who he is & just another sad chapter in this franchise's shitty drafting history.

Florida was really not that great tonight.

The Rangers are playing with half a competent roster. I don't see that with the Oilers, unless Skinner shits the bed which is possible.

They can actually exit the zone. They have lethal scorers.

Dallas depends on roster and injury. They are a resilient team.

The east is not a surefire win in the finals much like many people are saying.

Florida is on a mission. I would be surprised if it goes past 5.

Rumor has it that they did offer Othmann but PIT wanted Perreault and Drury said eat shit. That I understand, but Othmann + non conditional first + conditional 3rd if NYR makes finals is a way better package than they got and Drury can f*** right off for having zero balls to let it go

That’s true for ANY goalie. It’s rather tough to get on Igor. Especially because he IS the reason why the Rangers are even here. Really boils down to the team not finding a way to score more than one goal. This roster badly needs a 1RW that can transport the puck with Mika and CK20.

This must be what the internet would have been like in the ‘94 ECF.

The reason we won the last series was because one goalie was clean (Igor) and one goalie was not. Has Shesty been better than Freddie this series? Of course but we're only contenders if our goalie plays a great AND clean series. He has been the opposite of clean this series. It sucks that we need him to be clean to have a chance to win but this is the hand we're dealt. The roster has more holes in them than Al Capone's car after a shootout. He's supposed to be our rock and he's been the far less clean goalie compared to Bob.

You’re 2 games from a Cup Final you don’t get to play that card. Like they aren’t good. This is a hell of a team that if they lose is losing to the Cup winner.

Great offence but absolutely terrible in the own zone.

Tro has been better at face-offs and has been a better playmaker this season. Tro may have had less points than Mika, but he was a contributing factor to Laffy and Panarin also getting those points.

Actually Trocheck had 5 more points than Mika in the regular season but my point is that Trocheck had a career year while Mika had his worst season as a Ranger and they still ended up with almost the same point totals.

It's not close. Even when Florida didn't score it was because a stick got in the way at the last second or Igor made another save above expected or the Florida player simply missed. They've owned the slot and middle of the ice. We're cycling around the perimeter and getting angled out without even getting a point shot. It's this holding on by a thread feeling even when the game was scoreless or tied.

Same as football, basketball, same as checkers. Control the middle, control the game.

They just don't want it bad enough. That's not to say they're lazy, they put in an honest effort and give it a good go. They're just not willing to punch guys in the back of the head sometimes and be a little dirty to get what they need to get. It's just not a thing for em.

Ashamed isn’t the right word. Frustrated is more like it. The club can’t seem to get over the hump. The Vancouver Canucks of the East. Which is ironic because the 1 Cup they won in the last 85 years was against the Canucks.

Making two ECF in the last 3 years, they had a 2-0 series lead and was leading in G3 against Tampa, then just got completely whacked and lost in 6. They had a 2-1 series lead against Florida, and are proceeding to do the same exact thing. I'd love for them to come out flying and win G6 but history outside of 1994 is pretty bleak, especially for this core. If they go out on a whimper next game, a lot of serious reflection needs to take place.

I say all this because he is CAPABLE of it. He's just not finding a way to do it. He has to have a Kreider v. Carolina esque game 6 and just say there's nothing getting past me tonight. Again, he's the Messier of this iteration of the Rangers.

Othmann + another minor prospect + 1st (24) + Conditional 1st (25) that vests if we win the Cup (would have to figure out some other pick or something to tie to possibly).
