I think people were expecting more of a push back from them, and they did...1 period. Then period 2 and period 3 were a continuation of Game 3.

I don't believe it's over but I don't blame people thinking it is.
I kinda don't either but it's no secret this board is bipolar. Every game is life and death and that was during the regular season. It's 2-2 with 2 of next 3 at home. It's not over.

you could replace Troubas minutes with a traffic cone
Eh, it's not realistic. Like these people who talk world events now (I'll leave it at that). You need data and factual information. If a statement is made with no evidence or answer, it's just venting or rage.

I like Lavi but on the first sign of adversity he reunited Trouba and Miller. Forget about this series the head coach and my guess the GM think that Trouba is a good player.
This. Lavy has made some mistakes and this is a major one. How much more does he need to see? He has been outcoached by the stand up comedian Maurice. This pains me.

It's not over yet. They played a great first. Hopefully they can play a great 60 minutes for the first time since early in the Carolina series.

The problem is their great first was a 9 shot attempt advantage. Theirs are always 20+. When the Panthers want to they make us look like a non-NHL team. The problem is also that it's not even skill like you might be worried, that's something you can scheme. We're just getting physically dominated.

To be fair, the Rangers have never had that easy of a playoff run in their history, and to a lot of us this is the primary team we root for (for me Giants is a once a week things, Knicks I'm casual, and let's not get into the baseball team from Queens).

Plus the greater NYC area is stressed the hell out, has been for about a decade, and there's been a major championship drought in this city (I know NYCFC won in 2021 and all).

Trouba is big, has big hits once in a while, is a "well respected veteran", and is the captain. This is the stuff coaches jack off to. Every single one of them.

What really sucks about it is that we've predicated our offense on the rush, controlling quality, and not needing shots to get great chances.

Ok, and we've had some success there, but it makes it doubly puzzling that we've built a defense corps that can't move the puck. If you want a million odd man rushes and to just do royal road all day, you should do the opposite and prioritize puck movement.
We're long past, but Trouba was a prized player back in the day because he was a decent PMD with decent offense in addition to being a tough hombre. We know that's all gone to shit. I'd love for him to even skate a few more steps before making a pass up ice, but he makes passes from a standstill. Have to move Miller back to Schneider just for mobility and pace alone. I swear Miller sucks with Trouba because the latter slows everything. That's handling the puck, making decisions, doing actual things. Schneider at least forces Miller to do things faster.

Carolina didn't have a pulse?
That team perennially choked in the playoffs and isn’t strong down the middle. Jordan Staal was their 2C this year, for gods sake.

Players aren’t known for their performances in the Eastern Conference semifinals or quarterfinals. Mika hasn’t shown an ability to play 5v5 beyond that.

It's not even that: they have a tenacity of coughing up the puck with no pressure and making passes to no one or to a Panther.

trouba and lindgren need to go. I don’t think anyone can debate that. I think miller is being stifled badly by trouba and could become much better by consistently having a better partner. it’s no coincidence how much f***ing better we got once trouba left the lineup.
Can we trade Trouba to AstraZeneca? I'm on their site right now literally to see what they can offer in return.

I think a lot has to do with our performance and how we’ve played. we didn’t really improve from last game. 1st period was fine. then florida woke up and we had 2 more periods of game 3’s 3rd period. we looked absolutely dreadful and it was a f***ing miracle we were still in it.

we play in 2 days. we don’t get another rest day. we are clearly f***ing exhausted and getting beat down hard. I don’t see how we snap out of this.
With all that they lost a game in OT. I have to lean on the fact that this team has always responded when needed. They will be at home, the officiating couldn't be nearly as bad so they should get more opportunities, and I don't think some of the top guys could be any worse. We also have last change to help with matchups. It's not over.

Does anyone have a clip of the "should have been 2 on 1" at the end of regulation?
Was Mika pulled down or did he just fall?

The other argument is they had all these chances and igor stopped almost all of them. he played incredibly. another couple bounces and the game could've been out of reach far sooner.
