Post-Game Talk: Game 4

If Gallant was coaching this team right now I’d have no confidence in winning the series because he was the most useless hands off coach I’ve ever seen. I have faith in the staff to go over the videos and show these guys their mistakes and trying to get them to fix them.

Basically anything above the pad has a 40% chance of going in on him. I know the last 2 games have been ugly but lets not get it twisted, Panthers have gotten a ton of the luck in this series and heavy officiating slant (especially at home) and yet we're right here and its 2-2.

Also for all of Igor's heroics (and he's made some huge saves in each of the last 2) he's given up 5 goals that he should stop or HAS to stop. Thats too many. Thats half of Florida's output with a goalie in net. He was great tonight overall, but he was also 1 soft goal away from being great tonight in a regulation win.

Why are you the only person that says this? The first goal was no better than the first Kreider goal against Anderson in game 6 and the 3rd period goal by Skinner last game. But God forbid anyone questions it. He can be very good in a game and still get criticized over being allergic to having clean games. Against the Hurricanes he didn't see as much difficult action but at least he was clean. This series half the goals he's allowed have been downright shit.

Good point. At one point the Espn camera was on him on the bench and he was ready to go. Looking really engaged and anxious to get back on the ice. He got around 15 minutes tonight. Not enough.

Lavy better change things because as good as he has been this year he was outcoached the last 2 games by that prick Maurice.

trochek is our 1C at this point. he may not be flashy or make 1C money, but he’s unquestionably our 1C. Mika’s fine as a 2C sans his cap hit. Sadly, he keeps being played like a C which is laughable

I think people were expecting more of a push back from them, and they did...1 period. Then period 2 and period 3 were a continuation of Game 3.

I don't believe it's over but I don't blame people thinking it is.

You need to draft centers to have a chance. The organizational prospect depth is BMB becoming Joel Otto. Korzcak isn't going to become Brad Richards. That's it.

The good thing is Drury seems to be a self aware guy and gets things done. He hired a real coaching staff. He changed the skills coach.

Then we need a 1C that can push Trocheck to 2C where he’s elite.

I think a lot has to do with our performance and how we’ve played. we didn’t really improve from last game. 1st period was fine. then florida woke up and we had 2 more periods of game 3’s 3rd period. we looked absolutely dreadful and it was a f***ing miracle we were still in it.

we play in 2 days. we don’t get another rest day. we are clearly f***ing exhausted and getting beat down hard. I don’t see how we snap out of this.

I was hoping that game 3 would be a one off. We played games 1 and 2 even and I legit thought these two teams are even. It just feels like one team took over and the other is praying for a miracle every game. This wasn't a couple of bad breakdowns that end up in the net or chances against. It was a systemic absolute slaughter. This is who these two teams are.

You need guys to replace those minutes. There's no guarantee Chatfield or Pesce want to come here.
 
I wonder if Toronto would give us Marner for Zibadejad. He’d probably be more useful in the playoffs

my thoughts. had we looked a bit better but still lost, fine. we showed no improvement. this feels like 2022 all over again, though not as dramatic of a fall off.

It's not over yet. They played a great first. Hopefully they can play a great 60 minutes for the first time since early in the Carolina series.
