Has he seen his own team play?

Rich coming from a team that has Perry on it.

That is why Coaches shouldn't commit on such things. They make their team look stupid.

Would Sutter ever say something like that ? Nope.

Actually it was reported at the time he was the only member of the staff that had their contract up. He had a shorter contract. Everyone else was/is still under contract.

Right. But when you re-sign Penner, who was absolutely brutal for his entire tenure up until the playoffs, and everyone else, you'd think he would have been to with the way Dean talked about "wanting to bring the same team back". The powerplay was pretty good in the playoffs (see: Game 6) as compared to the regular season so that point isn't really a great one. I wanted Kompon gone too but damacles tried to argue that firing Ranford would "send a bad message" (What he was eluding to at least) and letting go a Stanley Cup winning assistant the season after you won is worse IMO.

Perhaps Sutter just didn't like Kompon and didn't want to make drastic changes mid season. Maybe he'll wait to fire Ranford in the offseason and not during a playoff run when we are currently in 4th place.

I addressed this in a later post. Sutter very well could have made the decision on Kompon, but we don't know if he did or if it was Dean who wanted to replace him since he WAS given a shorter contract than all the other coaches. We'll more than likely never know though.

I completely disagree. Letting Ranford go would be worse. Especially trying to use both the shootout and in a shortened season.

Neither of those have anything to do with why I think Ranford should be gone but okay.

So it's Ranford's fault that Quick is struggling right ?

So we won't hear anymore crying and moaning from here on out correct ?

Just need to fire Ranford, got it.

I don't know if you have already said...but, I'd like to know why you think he should be fired. What came to this conclusion tonight because I don't think you brought it up beford.

Kings were fantastic tonight. I'm not going to let a lost shootout bother me enough to ignore the fact that the Kings played a great game overall.

Earning a point despite our goalie being outplayed is a credit to our team.

Ducks will be that team that lives a charmed life that chokes when the pressure ratchets up in the playoffs.

I this whole goalie issue needs to be addressed by Dan Moriarty!

DM: This question for both of you..So guys, both of you have given up 6 straight shootout goals and cant seem to even stop anything...WHY?

Was a great game by the Kings. Ducks had some crazy good bounces go their way. Hated the reffing. I cringe at shootouts, and rightfully so.

I was kind of laughing at the reactions of two of the ducks goals. You get some lucky bounces and you're Mario Lemieux all the sudden. But whatever, like others have said, 3 points in two days. Will take that and run!

"Quick, Johnny B" (Dan say it like that too :) ).

What did YOU SEE?

And how often has this happend???

I'll tell you, NEVER!!!

Get over it!

It just magnified because it's happened in back-to-back shootouts.

I'd take Quick over just about any goalie in a SO.

So why do you want him gone?

I've never outright said it but it's been in my head since last season when we all wanted Kompon gone. And I've eluded somewhat to it in saying that Quick has the same holes I've seen in his game for years. I decided to post it today because it finally reached a point where I felt it needed to be said.

I'm not going to give full reasons right now as I have work to do and if I'm going to post my reasons, I don't want half assed ones. Maybe later but really it has to do with the fact that I haven't seen either goalie really evolve and GROW their game. The holes haven't been fixed. Yes, they've become better goalies and I don't want to give Ranford zero credit but it's mostly due to their own skills and just honing them (Quick with athletecism and Bernier with fundamentals). Outside of that, there hasn't been growth to their overall game in my mind. At least not enough with how long Ranford's had to work with them. Again, this is the most condensed reason I could give so just remember that.

Quick was awesome at shootouts last season. Bernier was never good. Now since Quick has had a rough time of course his shootout isn't going to be up to par. Every goalie has holes in their game. I just don't understand firing Ranford. I should have tried to be more understanding though. But, it's just really hard to believe why a fan would come to that conclusion. I'm really not trying to be rude. My bad!
