How is my view untested when it’s literally how most players outside of the elite prospects are dealt with as they progress to the next level? You ease most young players into their future role by taking on lesser assignments as they transition and use moments like this opportunistically to help them take the next step.
I’m not sure why you think that’s revolutionary when literally every NHL team operates this way when they have raw offensive prospects on the roster in games that are out of reach.
You can't do that in a short tournament though. Establishing chemistry early on in this tournament format, especially amongst players who don't have a rapport is a very important part in building a winning team. Sure you can spare the feelings of the Danes, but you also risk losing out on important line meshing.
and im the one using fallacies in their argument.........
ok man you win. i concede.
next time i hope canada checks on the other guys after they score. so this can be fun for everyone.
Nobody has dominated the World Juniors this decade is actually the correct answer.Ummm who's dominated world juniors this decade? Hint - not Canada.
Im not talking about full-on line chemistry - I’m talking about inserting guys into lines to essentially bonus them for hard work or prepare them in the event that injuries happen or shake ups are needed.
What makes more sense? Having two guys play together for the first time when they’re down 2-1 in a medal round or having them run a couple shifts together when it’s 11-0?
Im going to let the coaching staff do what they want think is best for their team. They are the professionals, not us. If coach wants his star player out there scoring every shift, so be it. In the end its all about the glory, not the little nitpicking that might make a small change or whatnot.
A couple of shifts isn't going to do anything. It's basically as bad as when coaches just use a blender for lines. Heck, with line changes most of the players probably have played a shift or two together anyways. The key right now for any tournament of this size is to get as many reps in with the lines you have prepped during camp.

The real question is, how can Sweden and Finland can be this good, and Norway and denmark this bad?
In Finland hockey is the number 1 sport, in Sweden it is a close second. I don't know about Denmark, but in Norway team sports do not hold any real water compared to individual sports - hence why they seem to dominate in sports like skiing at the Olympics. Team sports just aren't as popular in Norway. But even though Sweden and Finland are head and shoulders above both of Norway & Denmark in hockey, it should be noted how much farther ahead Denmark is than Norway. This is Denmark's 7th appearance at the WJC, and 5th consecutive which is no small accomplishment (and I'd bet they survive to make it 6 in a row next year as well). When comparing current NHLer's it's no contest either.. Zuccarello for Norway, but Andersen/Nielsen/Bjorkstrand/Eller/Ehlers for Denmark. The real question is, how can Sweden and Finland can be this good, and Norway and denmark this bad?
Exactly. Respect the other team and continue the effort. No one wants the pity from other team. Pedal to the metal for 60 minsIt's not ****ing house league. Play the game the way it comes to you and still do it with respect like they did and move on. I hate the whole aww shucks participation award stuff that goes on now.
and I'd bet they survive to make it 6 in a row next year as well.
TSN said Flyers have 7 players at the WJC... should probably fire the GM
Only around 20 rinks in Denmark, and many of those in the same cities. Soccer and handball dominates team sports. The real question is, how can Sweden and Finland be this good, and Norway and denmark this bad?
not sure why you think Canada's entire international hockey resume is "beat Denmark". it's not. Canada is the most dominant hockey nation on the planet by quite a bit. tonight's game was meaningless in the grand scheme of thingsThat's correct. Canada has not dominated world juniors this decade. The idea they are "the best" because they beat up Denmark is ludicrous.
It's crazy how the NHL missing one winter Olympics makes people forget obvious things lol. Hockey Canada can far and away assemble the best national roster out of any country in the world, period. We are absolutely dominant in one sport, let us have it.not sure why you think Canada's entire international hockey resume is "beat Denmark". it's not.
