I think one thing we need to realize as a fanbase before puck drop is that the series will not be won or lost at the conclusion of tonight's game. Regardless of outcome. People seem to forget that we got absolutely waxed in game 2 and game 4 last year and we still had 2 attempts to close out the series. It just happens from time to time.
Of course we want our boys to go 16-0-0 in the playoffs and play with heart and passion each game, but that is not reality either. Sure, in contrast a game like we saw on Tuesday is also not acceptable in any circumstance. Ultimately I am going to be looking for a more assertive and purposeful 60 minutes. If they can get back to doing that on a consistent basis, the results should come in time. Even if not for tonight.
As much as we want to say this is a do or die game, it really isn't. That said, it would really help our chances in achieving the ultimate goal. Personally, I am going to reserve my judgements on this team, both good or bad, for the conclusion of the series. Until then, I will just try and enjoy the rollercoaster as best I can
