I know there some serious hate on Holl but he is who he is.
But nobody scares me more now than Gio. He simply can't skate at all it seems
Holl is pretty serviceable if he can be carried by a competent partner. He's not afraid to take hits to make plays, and will block shots. He has his limitations, but so does pretty much every player. It's on the coach to find a way to get the most out of his players, and Keefe clearly drops the ball with Holl.

What can't happen is another night of Giordano-Holl playing like they did in game 1. They have been pretty good together most of the year, but Tampa did an incredible job exploiting their lack of speed and mobility and they were both frankly soft and made sloppy mistakes that can't happen in the playoffs. It's probably not a matchup you want to throw out there for Tampa to exploit, because they've proven that they easily can.

Also, maybe they didn't need to play the 39 year old in 78 games this year. I wonder why he looks so tired

Apparently, Furlatt is the ref from the game where Bunting was getting assaulted and no calls were made, and Keefe said Kyle was going to talk to the league after. He also reffed game 7 last year with McCauley last year with that infamous 'pick' call, amongst other bad calls.

So not sure this is much better.

A combined 0-13 over the 2 most infamous ones in Sutherland and McCauley.

What a f***ing shocker eh? Like it's honestly undeniable at this point.

Honestly, I’m mentally prepared for Keefe costing them the series and looking forward to him being fired so we can focus on winning next year. People will blame the players but it’s his lines holding the team back from their full potential.

The future of this franchise is on the line tonight, go down 2-0 and we aren't coming back

Matthews/Marner/Tavares need to have huge games. It would also help if Samsonov didn't completely suck

Leafs better come out guns and blazing. All this BS about lessons learned, taking it one shift at a time, sticking to the game plan needs to stop

Just come, outwork, outhit and outplay everyone.

hey keefe maybe let matthews/marner play against Tampa bay's bottom 6 to start the game. dont be such a sissy

Samsonov has to have a dominant game. Holl better have one of his Bobby Holl games. I think Keefe is making a mistake for putting him back in when there is Liljegren sitting there. Good luck to Knies..not expecting much, but he probably won't get suspended. Team has to start the game with urgency.

I think one thing we need to realize as a fanbase before puck drop is that the series will not be won or lost at the conclusion of tonight's game. Regardless of outcome. People seem to forget that we got absolutely waxed in game 2 and game 4 last year and we still had 2 attempts to close out the series. It just happens from time to time.

Of course we want our boys to go 16-0-0 in the playoffs and play with heart and passion each game, but that is not reality either. Sure, in contrast a game like we saw on Tuesday is also not acceptable in any circumstance. Ultimately I am going to be looking for a more assertive and purposeful 60 minutes. If they can get back to doing that on a consistent basis, the results should come in time. Even if not for tonight.

As much as we want to say this is a do or die game, it really isn't. That said, it would really help our chances in achieving the ultimate goal. Personally, I am going to reserve my judgements on this team, both good or bad, for the conclusion of the series. Until then, I will just try and enjoy the rollercoaster as best I can
While the bolded is true....stats show teams who win first 2 games win 87 percent of the time so while you are correct it is still a concern, no?

Will it matter with The Refs, DOPS, Goal Review's, Bettman, Jacobs, Springsteen and the Illuminati all against them?

Keefe 'best coach ever, look at his stats!!' with another clanger
I think the lines are fine. I know this place hates Kerfoot; but, this spreads the talent into three lines. He also produces well in the playoffs. My biggest gripe is Holl and Gio still remaining a pair.

Ya I was more talking about the defensive pairings not changing after surrending 7 goals at home getting the matchups you want.

If Tampa wins, they win the series.

No they don't. If Tampa wins, it's a 2-0 series, takes 4 games to win.

With that being said, Leafs in 5.

No chance in hell we start the game off worse than last time. No chance in hell the calls are as bad as they were last game. No chance in hell Samsonov is as bad as he was last game. No chance in hell Holl was as bad as he was last game. Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. Meaning the only way we can trend is upwards.

Leafs are going to come out strong after that embarrassing loss and remind everyone why they are the favorites in this series. If the Marlies can beat the Lightning, the big boys can easily handle them. It was 1 game, a brutal game but just 1 game. Doesn't matter if you win 10-0 or 2-1 in triple OT. At the end of the day you need 4 Ws, we get the first one tonight and keep going.

Sammy scares me.

He shit himself in game 1 and his entire playoff career for that matter.

If he doesn’t have >.910 the rest of the way the leafs are toast.
