Full credit to the Sens, but.... an unbelievably listless effort by the Leafs.

Looked like a team full of vets playing their final pre-season game.

Add to that the lifeless Toronto crowd and I'd have to say that's one of the least intense NHL games I've ever seen.

If you think the improvement is only on the wins/loss column I have to disagree.

This years team is playing way better, much more complete and showing that they can be much better than their current record.

Ulmark finding his legs, Zubs return (getting Sanderson out of Hamonic purgatory) and Pinto's return giving us a legit third line threat have a huge potencial impact.

Coaching and system are night and day - and will likley only get better.

If fans can't find optimism with this team, they may be watching the wrong sport.

Win loses actually haven't really changed, but the play has. After 15 games @ 5v5:

More props for Kenzie Lalonde . Leaf fans not able to get the Holy Mackinaw broadcast were not pleased. Bonus!
I didn’t watch the Kenzie broadcast on TSN5, as I saw the game was also on the 4K channel, so chose that.
Which was Gord Miller and Mike Johnson feed.
Holy Mackinaw is the radio.

Ottawa can only play the team in front of them and what they got was an overconfident team that had won 3 games against a basement dweller (Montreal) that doesn't play defense, an overrated team (Detroit) and a team that was struggling at the time (Boston).

It's funny Jeff O'Neill talked about them being on a roll on the panel. It's good they picked up those points and it's something Ottawa needs to get better at too but those weren't wins against tough opponents and at the first sign of adversity Toronto folded. I'm sure they'll be fine and they will start winning again but I'm seeing the same issues Toronto has always had that has led to them not having success in the playoffs.

It would be nice if they can bring that effort more often than not, because that is a scary team. Took away shooting lanes, blocked passes, attacked with speed, defended with speed. Got a Norris level performance from Sanderson and excellent support from the rest of the D. 5 of the top 6 forwards had points. All three Cs were involved. Ullmark was sharp as a tack.

Put this iteration of the Sens in my veins.

She did well, she knows hockey, her cadence is still a bit boxing match and not as relaxed as a hockey broadcast, next to noodles especially she seemed a bit staccato, but for her first broadcast it was good

That's regular leaf hockey, they need Matthews to play and show off who is best or fancier on that team. Princess team don't win hockey when it's though.

I think it’s more likely that Greig moves back down, Perron takes his spot, and MacEwen/Gregor rotate based on matchup. I doubt Cousins comes out.

Giroux - Stützle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Norris - Perron
Greig - Pinto - Amadio
Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins

Although I’m sure someone else will get banged up making this moot.
I would like to try this when Perron is back

Batherson - Stützle -Perron
Tkachuk - Norris - Giroux
Greig - Pinto - Amadio
Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins

We can also try Gaudette on top line for few games to see if he can handle more minutes.
If's the case Perron takes Amadio spot and Amadio play on the 4th line to carry that line.

the next 5 games will be a good test

flyers, hurricanes, oilers, knights, canucks

getting 6-7 points in this stretch would be huge

Before the game Cheryl Pounder said the Leafs are more likely to win the Atlantic division than the Senators are to make the playoffs.

Now the question should be if the Leafs are as bad as they were last night are THEY going to make the playoffs.

Sens need to achieve some separation from the rest of the eastern conference teams starting with a solid game against the Flyers. Can't take 2 steps forward and then 2 steps back....

Saying that...what a butt whopping last night.

I think you’re being a little harsh. We need speed. He’s a responsible player with a lot of speed
Gregor has been really good. Smart , fast , responsible.. I'd take him over Joseph any day. He knows his role and he executes it.

He also actually hits people.

He's a bottom 6er on this team and he accepts where he is slotted.

Almost every underlying metric is better,

Not to mention we had only played four away games in our first 15 last year compared to eight this year. Team looks way better and our record doesn't reflect quite how well we've played (NYR and Vegas games = snake bitten).

Win more games than they lose in this next stretch and this team might finally start to show that they're legit.

How long has it been since the sens were in the top half of the division by Christmas?

Dare we dream?

She is certainly competent. And I'd take her over Jim Hughson or a lot of those american pbp guys who scream things and yell "driiiiiiiive" every time someone shoots the puck.

The pitch of her voice throws me off, that just could be middle aged toxic masculinity influencing my opinion on that one.
