Bernier should have started this game. I thought we were riding the hot hand in net?

Not blaming this on Quick though.

A lot of players go through sophomore slumps, I don't want King going anywhere.

He should get one of them but not both. Quick was fine today.

Quick wasn't the issue today. he's still shaky and having some rebound control issues, but he needs games to get back in form.

i agree with the statement though about 'playing the hot hand'. you play a goalie until they lose, whether its the back up or the #1. it means that JQ may sit for X games, then so be it. it would be X wins and gets the team on track. right now they need to ride what ever momentum they can get.

frankly its time to nut up and get this turned around and moving forward. its time for 23 and 11 to start leading by example every game, instead of largely being invisible. it's time for Sutter to take it to the next level of being "Darryl" and light some fires under some *****. it is time for DL to maybe pull Vey or Toffoli up and just walk away from the likes of Richardson to make space. he will be claimed, but its wasted roster space. the team needs a bit of a shake up like last season. its not panic time, but it is gut check time imo. this team cannot afford more listless and effortless games like today

No im thinking richardson He played some pk last year and did very well imo. He s also able to play anywhere in the lineup Perfect guy to fill in for injuryed players a 3rd is possible imo from a team with alot of injurys

Uhhh

Brad logged the lowest PK minutes of all forwards last season.

But according to Behind The Net. Brad logged like hardly any PK minutes.

Shake-up is a scary word. I would like to add a guy like Grabner from NYI. Plays both sides of center with speed and good hands. Help Kopitar push the defense back

Would also like Clutterbuck on the bottom 6 to bring the body and still add some offense.

Also need a veteran on D. I would check the availability of Hamrlik in Washington.

Clutterbuck and Hamrlik are not high ticket guys, yes they would cost a bit, maybe we sacrific a guy like King, Richardson, Fraser, Lewis, Penner, etc plus a low pick.

I would love to see Grabner develop on Kopitars wing. Signed this year plus 3 more at 3 mil a year. Would take over Gagne's spot and salary commitment. Scored 54 goals the last 2 years and is only 24

The Islanders would want something pretty good in return for Grabner.

hmmm ok i ll belive what ur saying but i do remember him playing the pk and looked decent to me. either way i still see him getting a 3rd from a desperate team without much cap space. He can play all 4 lines decently to replace a injury players.

What I get out of this game is that when we play our game and have our full team heathly we are the best team 5-5. Problem this year is that we are not playing our game for 60 minutes and we are not healthy.

maybe if he was playing regularly but hes not gonna fetch anything when he's a healthy scratch.

Does Pennercakes have lead feet or is he just that out of shape?

The dude looks is like trying to skate through a swamp...

but I guess this is the least of The Kings problems this year.

I thought Penner played well today. He was controlling the puck down low. I like Lewis hustle but with the team not scoring I can see sitting him down to get a little more offensive forward in.

Mitchell, Greene, and Martinez out, Scuderi and Doughty are playing to many minutes. Ellerby was a good pick up but he is best suited for the bottom pair.

Doughty/Scuderi
Mitchell/Voynov
Martinez/Ellerby

Kubina was also available until a week or 2 ago, I really think we need another veteran D out there. We had some breakdowns in our zone that cost us the game today.

I still say cut our losses on this season and do a reload. Yes I know it's only been 13 games. Call me a pessimist, I just don't see a contender this season.

I just hope they don't use the injuries as an excuse for the lack of offensive. We just are not skilled up front and DL should load up on offense in the off season. We will only be elite if we score 10-15% more goals. More speed and creativity throughout the lineup is required. I am not worried about our D as long as Mitchel is heathlly. If not then we need to get another partner for Drew.

Kubina played in Philly last season for the last couple of months and was horrid.

It's bad when Sniper Rob Scuderi (1), has just as many or more goals than:

Simon Gagne (0)
Drew Doughty(0)
Colin Fraser(0)
Dustin Penner(0)
Trevor Lewis(0)
Dwight King(0)
Justin Williams(1) - Shooting % is a whopping 2.3%
Jake Muzzin(1)
Jordan Nolan(1)

Simply put, the Kings are not going to win many hockey games with this many guys unable to score. It's about time to stop using the excuse the season is just starting and not in hockey shape yada yada. 12 games....let that sink in..12 games.

Today was another example, zero offense generated outside all the PP time in the 3rd. Only reason kings were able to get going somewhat is chicago backed off the forecheck as they were protecting a 3-0 lead.

Silver lining--I only see this team getting better, not worse. We're playing (with the exception of stretches) some very good hockey, and the results just haven't reflected it yet. I'd rather have it even out towards the end like last year :)

The team's inconsistency and offensive struggles reflect the inexperience on the blueline. How many NHL games do our defensemen have combined? It has to be in the top-3 youngest in the league with three of our absolute rocks out. The puck movement is lacking out of the back end right now and it shows in our offense. Chicago's transition is spectacular with the tape-to-tape passing from D to speedy forwards; ours isn't there yet. It's okay. It will take time. These youngsters are growing right in front of us. Ellerby looks good out there, and when he's in his "perfect" role, we'll be a much, much stronger team for it.

Ducks are gonna come back down to earth, Hawks will lose eventually. I'm not hitting the panic button yet.

Your a pessimist. Why even be a fan? This is not the kings of the 80's we don't have to tear everything down, just get healthy and maybe a little tweak.
