Please trade Montembault. I’ve had enough of this Mediocre goaltending when the game is on the line.

Dvorak is ECHL material.

Trade Monty and then what? Dobes and a backup that is worse? Monty is overperforming to this contract and he had a great rebound game last night. Why is he being targeted now that Dobes is showing his potential? Why can't we be happy we have both? I just don't get it. Having two goalies that can win games is a good problem to have

Dvorak is a pending UFA and there is nothing wrong with him playing 4C. Many playoff teams will be looking to add a piece like this for the playoffs. Go look at the bottom 6 depth for the contenders bud. Not saying we will get a good return if we trade him but lets not devalue him in exaggerated levels.

Always someone on the target list I guess :(

I am starting to want this team to add at the deadline. I mean they have tons of picks and prospects available that would not really hurt them to lose.....
If we can add a high end RD that would be the preferable route. Send Savard packing. Dobson and Andersson are my two dream scenarios, but I doubt either gets moved. Matheson can stick around until Reinbacher is ready sometime next year I hope.

Hutson - Matheson
Guhle - Dobson/Andersson
Xhekaj - Carrier

Usually at trade deadlines now, players with term are moved and there are hockey deals that are made.

I have to imagine the Habs go that route.

I can see them potentially adding a depth piece for a 5th, but can't see them paying assets for what's more than likely a rental.

If the Habs can talk to said player beforehand and could potentially reach a extension at some point, they might get the jump on it with the warning about not tampering with pending free agents.

I think the Rangers were more worried they might be trading away a high first.

They've been stronger as of late and the game against the sens might have Drury and co being more confident in their team.
I don't know if I'm sold on Miller or not. That much noise has to be his attitude. But then you see his skill, 100 points. Then you see he's 32 and 5 more years on a big contract. Then you remember it's near impossible to get top 6 center. It's hard choice

Pretty sure Crosby controls his faith and does not want to hurt the Pens. Next season might the the tipping point where he says, thanks for trying Dubas but it's time for me to leave the Pens so you can properly rebuild
That's just sounds like BS. The guy can cry till the end of his deal and laze until retirement or he can end a career with another run at a championship. The choices are elementary, if he's already tired of winning, he should just retire now.

What do you guys think of Braden Schneider?

Rangers are going to have to do something. If they miss out on Miller.....and it looks like Evans is asking too much....is there a deal to be made around Evans for Schneider? Seems like a decent shut down guy to pair with Hutson.

If they want future....Mailloux + Beck?

We have Reinbacher.. would be a waste of assets.

Fair he is a similar player. Pair Hutson with Rein and Schneider with Guhle. Long term...

Hutson - Reinbacher
Guhle - Schneider
Xhekaj - Carrier

Not a lot of RD's around on teams that may be looking for a shakeup.

I'd look at someone better than Schneider. He's a solid bottom pairing dude but he hasn't gotten much better since he debut in the NHL.

Rangers aren't moving Schneider for a pending UFA who asking for too much.

On that note, what's Evans asking for? Does anyone really know?

We don’t need Gallagher's cap space yet.

Reinbacher will have missed most of the year, I don't expect him making the club at the start of next year.

Hughes getting a rental for this year goes against what he's been saying.

The Habs don’t need Gallagher’s cap space, but his roster spot next season is another matter… unless Newhook is somehow packaged in a deal for a more proven middle-6 C this offseason? I for one would rather re-sign Armia around 2.5M AAV than have Gallagher on the 4th line.

If Reinbacher is not ready next October, ré-singing Savard on a short term deal could provide an appropriate stop-gap.

As for getting a « rental » for a playoff stint, depends on the price; swapping Dvorak for Grandlund should not be cost-prohibitive, especially if the young core can get some playoffs experience out of it!

He's not tired of winning and he is one of the most competitive guys in the league. He won't want to finish his career with more of the same he has gone through (last season and this season). Pens either have to improve their roster of he is not finishing that contract with the Pens. It's one or the other

No, he's going to do what Mario did for him and that's mentor and bring in the next group of Penguins, to hopefully keep the torch of success to the new generation.

He's a Penguin for life.

Thats always the concern with a player like that is you have a room that probably wasn't the best and you don't want to bring someone in as you're repairing it just to break that.

Would be nice, but can't imagine they're trading him

I don't see Dobson happening. Dobson requires a piece we prefer not to trade. Cost to acquire is too high and the cost to extend him will be too high.

Andersson or Nemec is possible. These can be futures based and we can afford it.

Honestly, I prefer to add Nemec and keep Matheson. Matheson stays with Hutson for the next 3-5 years while Nemec and Reinbacher develop. Then you end up with Hutson, Guhle, Reinbacher, Nemec all around the same age and likely all with good contracts.

Yeah....I like your Evans for Nemec deal you put on the main board. I'd be down for that.

If the Devils trade Nemec, they're likely aiming for a roster player that helps them now.

Don't tell a poster to say something that will get him an infraction for blatant trolling.

It's a solid offer but not even sure if Hughes would do it. I would love to add Nemec to our mix and he really does round out our top 4D IMO. However, Evans is one hell of a 3C and that's not easily replaceable. I'd still make the trade though. A little setback but fits our long term vision. I do think Evans is looking to cash in.

For all we know, Hughes wants to see more from Mailloux before he goes RD shopping.
