Ok, so if our AHL guys are likely best suited to come up next year, why can we move some combination of guys like Penner, King, Nolam, Lewis, Drewiskie, prospects, picks, and get something that works?

Takes two to trade, Someone has to want those players.

Penner is very Expensive for a plug.

King needs to be sent to Manchester IMMEDIATELY. Roll Nolan, Lewis, and Fraser on the 4th. Richardson should only be inserted in back-to-backs for some speed; otherwise, he should never play. Keep shuffling Clifford up and down lines 1-3 to inject energy when needed.

Gagne - Carter - Brown
Clifford - Kopitar - Williams
Penner - Richards - Toffoli/Vey
Lewis - Fraser - Nolan

Guys the Monarchs have a lot of losses for a reason....Part of that (big part) is due to the younger forwards on the team.

Think about that.

Vey is a +8 and Toffoli a team leading +15 on a team that is starting an awful defense. Having Vey come-up and play 3rd line right wing wouldn't hurt one bit. While I would prefer to have Toffoli wait until he has a full year in the AHL under his belt, Vey could handle the 3rd line role right now

You guys are way overreacting, to the Kings getting Thumped by the Best team in Hockey.

It's not just this game, we are getting nothing from the bottom six

Vey would be fine, I would rather Toffoli play more AHL games.

King is not waiver exempt, and he would claimed.(size alone would get him claimed)

The Kings have to sit him or trade him.

Which is probably why Dean Lombardi has not made a move yet.

The only person on the roster that doesn't have to pass waivers is Nolan/Campbell.

Agreed. Look at Lewis for example, the guy doesn't have a point this year, but he had more ice time than Clifford, Gagne, and Williams today. Give those minutes to someone who has an ounce of offensive skill

I agree with those saying let Richardson go, and if he gets claimed, who cares? He won't be on this team next year anyways

Something is clearly wrong with Kopi. In the past when he couldn't get his offense going, his defense was exceptional. Now he's creating turnovers and getting knocked off the puck easily. :(

Kopitar isn't the same player as he was last season. He could tell when he's along the boards and he can't protect the puck using his body. He's easily bumped off the puck now and constantly turns the puck over. I think his injury is hampering him more than we are led to believe. All of his strength is gone.

Could be the injury, or it could be that Kopitar always plays this way this time of the calendar - the yearly 3 goals in 35 games span that has always been part of his game.

The only thing separating Kopitar from the top tier of players is that he simply doesn't want it consistently enough. He settles for being dangerous only on outnumbered rushes for weeks at a time. A knee injury would make working off cycles and quick cuts to the middle more difficult for certain, but this current poor streak just isn't all that unusual given his history.

If only he would think shot first as he crossed the blueline with possession. He's so much more effective when he is looking to finish. He hasn't had a dangerous chance in the last few games, and that just isn't acceptable with that skill-size combination. He has to start being more selfish so his linemates can capitalize on rebounds and coverage problems created by aggressive drives to the net. His line gets no second chances when he stops up and dishes the puck.

Of the seven top 6 forwards the Kings have, only two of them have more than 1 goal at ES through 13 games, and three of them have 0. Brown and Doughty have only 1 assist each. Greene has an ES point, which is 1 less than Richards, and more productive than Brown and Doughty, and he hasn't played since game 1.

Clifford and Voynov are 1-2 in ES points with 7 and 6.

That's just not good enough.

These next 5 games are huge. The Kings are 0-3-1 against Colorado, Edmonton, Anaheim, and Detroit this year. 4 of the next 5 games are against those same teams. I can't imagine they can afford to keep that up.

With the amount of Injuries to the D, people should just be happy with 500. hockey.

I don't see this team rattling off 5,6,7 wins in a row.

Not with the D the way it is. The offense is struggling a lot cause the D is slow to move the puck up ice.

Willie Mitchell is really underrated with his outlet passes. Same with Greene.

Also look how deep the Kings forwards have to come into the D zone to help out.

That makes it really hard to generate speed through the zone.

We better do something quick who ever wants us to wait is delusional we are versing very good teams soon we can't lose those too and then be in a deeper hole.
Get rid of Richardson. King sit or trade, Lewis maybe Fraser too.
We need to make a trade and call up some players with actual talent before it's too late.

Gagne played like crap once again. He's riding on his past accomplishments right now. Gagne is past his prime and holding back his linemates.

^ Absolutely nonexistent.

Fourth in scoring with five assists. I like Gagne and he needs to be in the lineup.

Sutter post game Comment. Calling out non Scorers.

Sutter On whether there’s concern at the team’s standing in the second quarter of the season:
“Well, we’re four points out with one or two games in hand on every team ahead of us. That’s what reality is….I think what is more significant, is being at the quarter pole is the fact that we have guys with zero goals at the quarter pole. I don’t even think I’d be in the lineup if I had Zero goals at the quarter pole.†(Sutter)

Sutter just dropped the Hint to Dean Lombardi, Get some people off my roster.....

Ball is in Dean's hands now.

Sutter's saying what most of us here in this thread are. Lombardi has to make some moves because the likes of King, Lewis, etc. simply aren't getting it done.

Bring Gagne up with Richie/Carts and leave them together. Gags is playing with energy and Richards is up to speed while Carter has been there all along.

Gagne hasn't done **** to deserve 2nd line minutes.

Well then Sutter say's this....

“Darryl Sutter, was asked if Kings were considering calling anyone up (Sutter)‘We have some young players on defense that didn’t play very well tonight and we have some forwards up front that weren’t ready for the heavy lifting. I don’t think going to Manchester is going to help that.’â€(Sutter)

Well Sutter doesn't think Kids are going to help it seems.
