What is the proper context that everyone else is missing?
Jesus christ im not saying you guys are missing the context. I literally meant its like 30% taken from a 100% converstation. In other words the surrounding context is missing.
What is the proper context that everyone else is missing?
I'm assuming he was asked if he thinks he needs rest. Why else would he say that? Even still, he is stating a fact about his conditioning, how is that criticizing the coach?Do you think he makes the comment about not being tired if he wasn't scratched? If no, then he's criticizing the decision because we're not talking about this otherwise
I would hope that's not what he's doing. That would make him a locker room cancer. If JC feels that happening, he's gotta strip the "A" and take the power away from Seabs. If that's what he's doing, he needs to be immediately banished from the team. This isn't the Chicago Seabrooks, he doesn't get to call the shots here.
Hopefully that's not what he's doing, and I hope he doesn't do anything in this adverse situation that will tarnish his legacy. (because being scratched right now, or eventually moved, does nothing to hurt his Blackhawks legacy. His reaction to it could.)
It's one comment saying he thinks he can still play. I really don't think it's a big deal. I generally downplay anything athletes say in general, for what it's worth and I think fans look into it way too much.
Seems like I'm alone in this viewpoint though.
He is not happy he isn't playing, and still thinks he can play. He was asked about those specific things by the media. Of course he is going to stick up for himself when asked, I didn't see him mention the coach once. His comments about him still being able to play, and not needing rest, and guys writing about his age and speed, and that he still has a lot to offer in the league, and can still be a good player for somebody... all implies criticism about the decision... not sure how it can be taken any other way.
Again, I don't know the tone of how any of it was said, just the text, but the text is not a good look for him at all.

How is he acting like an entitled baby? He is simply saying that he thinks he can still contribute and that the media bashing him is what pisses him off.If you don't see his comments as critical of the decision, then I don't know what else to say to you other than to clean your glasses. The argument that "he's not trashing the coach, he's just acting like a big entitled baby" doesn't really move the needle.

Of course he's throwing the coach under the bus. When a player criticizes a decision rather than taking it like a good soldier, it's implicit that the criticism is directed towards the person who made it.
I think Lehner is pretty much the #1 at this point. So if the Hawks manage to beat the Preds tonight, does that officially solidify:
1. Lehner is the starter
2. Seabrook as 7D

What player has said or implied that the coach is right for sitting them?Come on, don't be purposely obtuse. You don't have to specifically say "I think the coach is wrong." His words imply it. Particularly the "I can be a good player for somebody still." portion.
I'm not saying he's trying to turn the locker room against the coach. That's tin-foil hat ****. I'm just saying he is 100% criticizing the decision by Colliton to sit him, by using the words he did.
I don't think he is saying I am better than the guys playing, I think he is just telling the media that he can still play in this league, unlike the articles they are writing suggest otherwise.just stop... if you think seabs isnt calling out this decision through the media then idk if theres anything more to say...
What player has said or implied that the coach is right for sitting them?
I really don't think he doesn't think he needs to be better. This was a reaction to the media calling him out, not the coach scratching him. He called out the media, not his coach.because he's been dog**** on ice for three years and has only sat 3 times during that span and still complains to the media...he should say i need to be better and thats that...there was zero chance he wasnt getting back in

He's an upset healthy scratch, that's all this is.

How do you know this?
Because he's playing like ****, lashing out at the media as if everyone else is blind, and saying he has a lot to contribute "somewhere". You think that's the same as if he had taken it like a grownup and said he has a lot left to contribute to the Blackhawks, and looked forward to working hard, proving doubters wrong, and getting back in the lineup?
I really don't think it matters. We all know how those guys feel and just because a guy lies to the media doesn't change anything behind the scenes.Because he's playing like ****, lashing out at the media as if everyone else is blind, and saying he has a lot to contribute "somewhere".
