Remember how fast and exciting the team that Smith/Dale built was?

Hawks have to be one of the slowest and predictable teams in NHL at this point

Its baffling how this team was constructed to play at such a crawl's pace at time when NHL is built on speed

That's a lot of **** in one bed too, we probably need to throw out the sheets, and maybe even the full mattress.

Yeah, I thought Toews would put up his usual 65-75pts, Kane would get 90+ but the difference would be made up from improvement from Cat/Strome.
I thought Strome would put up 70+ pts this year and Cat would be ~ppg
 
if colliton only had a conversation with seabs sunday about the scratch then it was probably a disaster if he decided not to bother having that conversation again before the game yesterday...seabrook and his 43% cf thinks hes fine so whats there to talk about, must be a great guy to coach

The team isn’t even entertaining to watch. Have to imagine there will be a lot of no shows at the UC if they can’t turn it around.

its a shame tallon hasnt been able to replicate it in the 10 years of rebuilding he's done in florida

I don't know Ben Pope from Adam but I agree with this tweet/entire article. Watching the players in complete disarray last night was beyond embarrassing.

There was plenty to criticize about Q but he kept his cool and did not blame the players other than to use Q-speak language like okay etc...

JC is showing his inexperience and after a full year of staying patient, I am now in the group questioning whether he is equipped to be an NHL HC.

hes a loud meatball fan but thats not at all what he said in that.

This is starting to remind me of the early 2000's with this team. Slow, no urgency, no compete in their own zone. Even the PP is slow in making passes or shots. Players constantly out of position, like a midget team where all 5 skaters chase the puck. Whatever "system" JC is trying to teach, it either sucks or the players just don't want to listen and are stuck in their old ways or just rebelling against his authority. At least Toews acknowledged last night after that disaster that he really can't call out his teammates since he is playing so bad. Well captain, if you know you suck, what are you doing about it? I see Kane as totally frustrated, either with his game, his teammates, or with JC, not sure which. I see a team that wants to play a certain way, and when that is defended by the opposition, they don't change, just keep doing the same things. Not a recipe for success.

It kind of reminds me of the Alpo Suhonen era.

I wonder if these guys want out? This isn't the same franchise they once knew. The coaches and players for the most part are all different. Toews and Kane don't really know these guys, they don't really have any special bond with these guys.

Maybe it's like going back to your hometown after living somewhere else for years. Nothing is as good as you remember it being, and it's kind of a let down.

This isn't a defense of them, but I'm trying to relate my personal frame of reference to their situation. Still, they shouldn't be playing like shit and sulking.

Maybe. The mental aspect of sports is just as important as the physical. But, these guys are highly paid pros and they know what is expected of them. If they are going to whine and sulk, then they should go somewhere else as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think Kane wants out. He seems closer with the young kids.

I dont understand, what is he doing wrong exactly? Not telling Seabrook he was not yet back in the lineup? Does Seabrook have a rented place or something? If he's scratched, hes scratched until the coach tells him he's back.

Im more worried Seabs is actually upset about it. I wasnt of the opinion he's entitled (i thought denial) but thats pretty entitled behavior.

ahhh but a country club atmosphere can do wonders for a spoil player or players.

I am more concerned that Seabrook actually thought he was play fine...

Ya, he's the one that seems to care at times. He also played with more energy when he got paired with DeBrincat and Strome last night.

I think his sulking may come from not getting to play with those two, still unacceptable though.
