It was Russian Collusion...the oligarchs and Putin made a deal with all the Hawks except Lehner to give then free Chevy cars"Like Kane and Toews drive" if they.....you know ...took the night "off".Tgey promised to upgrade Toews Nd Kane from Chevys to
Cadillacs...but Lehner said he would never betray his Volvo.

OK this made me laugh. Thanks, Fiddy!

3 mins of play when the Preds were up 3-0. I still don't think this line works. Especially in away games when the opposing coach can match against them.

Worth a try at this point tho. Anything to wake up a little bit of the offense? They're getting their teeth kicked in at evens even with "balanced" lines. Outside of dunking on the Kings 4th line one game at home, Debrincat and Strome have been as quiet as anyone.

I'd try Saad-Toews-Kubalik
Debrincat-Strome-Kane

Without Lehner standing on his head, it could have been 10-0. I don't think those combos hurt them anymore than tonight did. (famous last words aha)

Nobody does.

Except the Blackhawks.

The same problems that plagued the Hawks under Q, still plague the Hawks under Colliton. Not covering the points. Losing guys in "the house" constantly. This is moving from a zone system, to a hybrid man-to-man system. At this point, it's probably safe to say, it's probably not the system. When your supposed top 2, and highest paid players, are among the laziest in the defensive zone...you are SCREWED. I see more defensive zone effort every night from beer league players, than I do from Toews and Kane. That is THE BIGGEST problem.

The more I watch this team, the more convinced I am that HOSSA was the true leader of this team. They've been PATHETIC in the defensive zone since he retired.

Toews, Kane, Debrincat, Strome -> have all played much worse than last year.

I don't think the D has been that bad, outside of Gustafsson and Seabrook. Keith has been much better IMO.. but still not the top pair guy, but he's 36.

From the supporting cast, on paper it looked like we made an upgrade

Forwards:
Kahun, Anisimov, Kruger, Kunitz, Hayden, Perlini vs
Kubalik, Shaw, Carpenter, Nylander, Dach, Smith

Defense:
Forsling, Dahlstrom, Manning vs
de Haan, Maatta, Gilbert

Goaltending:
Lehner > Ward/Delia

It just boils down to our 4 main offensive guys to pick up their game I'd say. Defensive system isn't great, but hopefully it improves.. Lehner can and will steal a lot of games for us.

We have the players to be a good team... It's mind boggling honestly.

Musto you're sick you're weird but GD it you're .... magnificent!
Pic & txt had LOLing no joke.

Yeah... something is wrong and it looks like a power game between the so called core and Coach.
Bowman has to react to it: fire JC or trade 1 of those players to send the message. Try to sell Seabrook and take back a contract like Eriksson. Still shitty but it has to be done. Not willing to add Dach or Boqvist but all others can be attached. Problem is all talks start with those two as sweetener.

Lehner was great, what a game he has had.

Seabrook was pissed that JC didn't tell him they were scratching him Sunday against LA until....Sunday looooooooool...This ****in guy....Konroyd suggested that JC could've told him Saturday after they got back from Carolina....Imagine thinking this is a thing that would cause this kind of embarrasing outlash at the scratch...again, what was the confusion seabrook, told sunday for a sunday game and he went to the media about it monday...waive the nmc
I'll take it one further. Who the hell cares what Seabrook thinks? The Blackhawks are paying him $7.5mn this year. If they tell him to sit a minute before the game, he needs to sit and shut his trap. No Blackhawk fan gives a crap about Seabrook's feelings. Play better or shut up.

I listened to Konroyd coddle KFC long enough. It's beyond his contract now. Brent Seabrook is a liability on the ice. To stick out as one of the worst DMen on this defensive disaster is not an easy accomplishment. I will show my love and respect for Seabrook when he retires. Until then, he gets paid a lot of money to produce. Unfortunately, he sucks and needs to recognize.

Eriksson's contract is 50x better than Seabrook. After this year, Seabrook has $21mn of cash left on the deal ... $6.8mn cap hit for 4 MORE years. After this year, Eriksson has $8mn of cash left on his deal ... $6mm cap hit for only 2 more years. Seabrook has not only 2 years more on his contract, but also a lot cash owed him including this year. Furthermore, Seabrook's cap hit is almost $1mn more per year.

I agree with Fiddy. His country club rants about the core abtly applies in this situation. This team plays with no urgency. How do you give up 50+ shots in a game and feel it could have been far worse? It could have been 10-0 if it wasn't for Lehner.

JC feels like another Fred Hoiberg. Nice guy with some decent offensive schemes ... but overmatched in every way. Does the core even listen to him?

It's the collective of issues that is just too much to handle imo. Our defensemen dont have any transition game, so they can't help out the forward forecheck and sustaining ozone time. Which sucks for us doubly because we barely have any forwards that can win races, battles and pressure away from the puck so they end up chasing the game all the time.

We got exposed by Nashville hard because their strengths are exactly out weaknesses. Nashville, Vegas, Washington, Boston... Hard battling teams with decent offensive defensemen are going to eat us alive.

If Toews and Gus didn't regress so hard we'd be in a better spot. Arguable those two were the strongest cogs battling against those above weaknesses... But now they've gone all the way down to liabilities.

I'm at the point too where I think a shock needs to happen to the core. They might not be able to do the things they did before because of age, but we won't know unless we truly shock the system.

I'd say trading Seabs would be the best for that. Or at least punish him hard, so the others realize what's what. The next few game will be interesting to see how the whole scratching plays out.

Stan isn't afraid to make those type of moves, weve seen it with Hammer. So if we continue this path all the way to the TD, I'm expecting something. I don't think a coaching change would be enough of a shock, we already did that and JC isn't the issue imo.

Toews is nearly as untradable as Seabrook. Getting rid of either one is fantasy.

I think Toews will retire a hawk regardless of performance. :dunno:
I might just be soft but i can be pissed at him all night if he has a shitty game, but the next day pretty much all i remember is what hes done for us in the past. Like a battered wife ill always come back lol.

They can trade Toews. What the return might be would likely depend on money retained

Who would want Toews? Making $10.5m. Last year he was good and was worth around 8, the two previous years he was meh and worth 4-5, and this year he’s worthless. We’d have to give up major pieces and retain 50% to move him. He’s on the wrong side of 30, and there’s a very reasonable chance he’s done. I was very worried last year was a mirage, which it appears to have been.

agree to disagree here...lucic was just traded and he makes what 7 per?

Zawaski said on his podcast that Stan and Colliton firings should be on the table. Said he thinks (his opinion, not reporting) that Stan’s seat is hotter than Colliton’s at the moment
