LETS ROLL BABY.

If Primeau shows some real promise this year then I could see Habs trading Price for Hall this year.

I could see Price being sick of Montreal and ok-ing the trade. All it will take is another ~.900 SV % season for that market to go nuts on him again.

Why would Price accept a trade to New Jersey? Wouldn't he want to go to a contender to have a chance of winning the Cup?

And both were nothing but emergency callups. Primeau is in the NHL because the Habs feel he's their 2nd best goaltender.
Or that they want to give him a taste of the NHL and a Christmas bonus?

I fully expect Kinkaid or Lindgren to come up after Primeau plays some games.

In the current state of things I really don't think they drive in some prospect to get the vets take his place later on. It makes no sense.

Kinkaid is down to get some games/confidence in. He is most probably going back up afterwards unless he is traded.

If Primeau really is the answer in the future, as he should be, there's no reason to not call up Lindgren instead, who already has NHL experience.

Lindgren gets exposed to waivers if he stays long enough. Not the case for Primeau. Primeau is also the only one on a 2-way so he's the only one that gets anything tangible out of this.

it's not like they have to worry about losing Lindgren to waivers, his one way contract next year likely means teams wouldn't pick him unless he plays outstanding.

Lindgren's waiver exemplity goes as far as..? Too lazy to do the math because it's really messy.

Honestly though, this is one of those goals I think is really good for Primeau.

Rough start.

He wasn't ready, and it's kind of bizzarre that they'd bring him up with the mess they have playing in front of him while playing one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. He's getting no support, but he's also not looking like an NHL goalie. Hopefully he can turn things around before he gets the hook tonight. That would be rough.

he made a great come back and I thought his game went better and better

He's been pretty untested. There's been hardly anything on him since that onslaught. He went a PP facing no shots. Colorado's let the foot off the gass. With it a 3-2 game, it's a lot more interesting and we're starting to see the Avs buzzing again. This last half of the 3rd is going to be a nice little glimpse. All I can say though he was playing almost as disgusting as the 5lb poutine they keep showing on the Avs telecast.

You can tell he's got the nerves.

He's mishandled the puck a ton, a few times in the 3rd giving up opportunities, and he looks slower dropping down than I remember seeing him . He did scramble and made a nice acrobatic save with his stick after one of those giveaways. He's playing really deep in his crease and is scared to attack the puck. Lets see if they can get him a goal here.

Overall, not a bad game. Not a good one either. There were some positives, some good saves and he has enough net coverage for his size to be effective but there were a lot of mistakes. Stickhandling, quickness (particularly loose pucks, and reflexes), and rebound control need work. Some of it can be chalked up to nerves.

0.914 save % pretty decent first game!! Good for the kid playing behind a team giving him no help.

well most teams wouldn't call up a 20 year old rookie within a week of him giving up back to back 5 goals a game and 14 in his last 3. Nothing like giving up a bunch of goals in the AHL to facing the highest scoring team in the NHL. The Habs are so lucky to have the brain trust in charge of development, it's been working out super over the past several years so why stop now.

I thought he showed good reflexes, which helped him a ton in recovering from his mistakes. Overall a very good game considering the circumstances

Really playing well again in his 2nd NHL start... no goals against on 26 shots after 2 periods vs. Ottawa. Mixed feeling about him staying with the Habs and playing 1 every 4 games vs returning to the AHL and playing a lot more. IMO, he should go back to AHL - I think it will be better for his development but its really nice to see him do this @ NHL this early in his career.
