Kid is gonna be a star, its insane how technically sound he is. Still cant believe he was a 7th rounder.
Still can't believe the Flyers traded the pick to Montreal so you could pick him instead of just taking a former Flyers kid.

Of course, it's reported Hextall was fighting with the alumni so maybe he didn't want to take him out of spite.

At least the Flyers might have gotten their own steal in that same 7th round in Kalynuk...PPG in NCAA as a Dman.

Habs certainly look to have their next goalie in line. A few years of Primeau playing behind/competing with Price will be great for his learning and development.

Primeau was never supposed to be a 7th rounder. IIRC most rankings had him around the 3rd round and then for some reason he fell like a rock at the draft. Habs really seem to have found a gem in him, I will be surprised if he isn't a quality NHL goalie in a few years.

Kalynuk is far from being an NHL quality player, i’m sorry, i’ve watched him quite a bit and he’s not very good at all.

amazing & ironic that the Flyers shied away from their long-running nepotistic draft strategy and therefore passed on Cayden who will likely be the best former-Flyers kiddo ever!

Even if somehow he doesn’t struggle, he should be in the ahl for more playing time. I just don’t get this move at all.
I personally think he should be starting 10 games in the NHL and the rest in the AHL.

Agreed. The only saving grace for us is that instead of using that last pick, we invited an undrafted Dman to rookie camp, then main camp, and then signed him. That guy was Philippe Myers.

So it's very likely we would have used the pick on Myers anyways.

Of course, the flipside is...we could of had both!

LETS ROLL BABY.

If Primeau shows some real promise this year then I could see Habs trading Price for Hall this year.

I could see Price being sick of Montreal and ok-ing the trade. All it will take is another ~.900 SV % season for that market to go nuts on him again.

Bergevin afraid of losing his job. Ridiculous to have a blue chip goalie play in the NHL with not even 1 full year of development in the AHL. It worked for Price though but he was a 5th overall pick and had just won the the calder cup in the AHL while being the MVP. The last thing he needs is playing behind a struggling team and one of the worst defensive teams in the league against the freaking AVALANCHE.

Unfortunately Price loves it in MTL. Plus no one is taking on that contract

recipe for disaster, let primeau backup price a full season and actually steal his job, let him walk to seattle.
