On this quiet evening, I caught this game. He played a lot better than game 1 and looked sharp for most of the game. I was impressed with how he played angles. He still has a few issues, but you could tell he wasn't as nervous. Solid game tonight.

Kid is doing good. Great talent and seems to have what it takes to support pressure.

That being said, let’s just calm down habs fans.

I've read two pages of very reasonable posts and 1 comment about overtaking Price in a year or two.

What are you talking about?

huh? what have habs fans said about him? that he's gonna be good starter soon? Damn they better hold their horses with those expectations!

Didn't you know? All Habs prospects are busts until proven otherwise. We're not allowed to be encouraged by a young players progression lol

In today's NHL hockey, each team need two solid, very good goaltenders to reach the top. Primeau might be too young now to stay at NHL level, and it should be better for him to play 35-40 games at AHL level this year, but Habs are stucked with no real good solutions to back up Price, now.

But in a year or two, I can easily see Price in net for 50-55 games at the most, and Primeau playing the rest.

Primeau with a strong game today and back to back strong games as he's given up just 2 goals total. It's been an odd season with ups and downs. The numbers aren't bad but they aren't great either with a 2.58 gaa which is solid for a 20 year old rookie but it's the .903 save % that is troubling.

That said after a great start to the season he hit a rough patch that was in the middle of his NHL call up for 2 games (what GM calls up a 20 year old goalie that just gave up 14 goals in 3 games) during said rough patch he gave up 24 goals in just 5 games (ouch) but since then he's played in 14 games as a starter and in 2 of those games he's given up 9 goals but in the other 12 he's given up just 20 goals. So 29 in 14 games is still very good.

Its really nothing to be too concerned of imo.

Look at Samsonov and Hart's numbers their first season in the AHL.

Primeau's last 3 starts he's given up a total of 3 goals. Talk about stepping up at the right time. He's given up 8 goals in his last 5 games and 22 goals in his last 11 games.

Primeau continues his stellar play of late, Laval has just been decimated by injuries and call ups to their best players but he's been playing some of his best hockey. He's given up 8 goals in his last 5 games some of which have been against the top teams in the AHL and in a playoff like environment as Laval struggles to stay in the race.

He's given up 27 goals in his last 13 starts.

Montreal may have got the best pick in the entire draft with selecting Primeau in the 7th. Insane value.

Wow there, Heiskanen, Makar, Pettersson, Thomas, Yamamotto and Susuki are saying helloooo!

Maybe best value from 2nd to 7th round, big ol' maybe

I stated best VALUE. Possibly getting a starting NHL goalie in the 7th round is insane value for that pick. Of course there are better players in the draft but for VALUE getting Primeau in the 7th is ridiculous. Oettinger cost Dallas a #1 pick and Montreal only spent a #7 on Primeau.

OK I see you point and that's pretty accurate I would say
