I think moving Muzz is the answer, that being said...I dont like the idea of Sandin-Holl pair. My answer is to move out Holl and Muzzin and bring in a physical RHD vet. Someone like Savard in mtl, 3.5 aav and can bring a bit of what Muzzin does next to Sandin and gives us some savings to upgrade Kerfoots 3.5 to a 5 mil forward for top 6.

Muzz only moves if he wants to and to me thats an LA deal or nothing. They are actually a lot more competitive than when he left so maybe. The concern, which may not be Kyles, is that his loss and that of Boosh softens them up too much. Not sure Savard at this stage in his career is up to the challenge although I wanted him a couple of years ago. With Muzzins cap gone I think they would need to aim a bit higher but that meanss a trade and there would be more assets on the move than just a Kerfoot or a Holl.

I would do it. We need centers and have Niemela and Kral whould be able to fill out the bottom of the D corps in the near future anyways. Hayton had a decent season production wise considering his role and complete and utter lack of talent to play with. I could see him doing quite well with a change of scenery. Liljegren is the significantly better player right now and unlike Sandin has been able to have success when moved up the line-up.

That's what I'd prefer too. Trade Holl and Kerfoot for whatever, or include them in swapping Sandin for a forward that has potential on the 2nd line.

Sign ZAR and Subban and I think that's good.

This is exactly where I am too. My preference would be to keep Sandin and move Muzzin if possible. And I wouldn’t mind grabbing Stralman too. He played 20 minutes on the right side.

It might be a softer D corps but it’s more mobile, cheaper and frees up money for 2023-24.

Could trade Muzzin, Kerfoot and Holl for picks. Grab Nino and another forward, maybe Steel. Save those picks and prospects for the deadline to address needs. Maybe Chychrun becomes an option.

That's not a bad target. The problem is that he's another small forward and I think the Leafs want a bit of a different type of player.

I still think the Kings is a good target too. They have a lot of young players and a need for defenseman. They are running out of cap space but should be able to fit Sandin.

Sandin for Hayton is not bad. Hayton played for the Soo Greyhounds under Dubas too.

So slam dunk then The thing about these two is Hayton was drafted at #5 when the world thought 11-12 and the world was right. The redrafts I have seen actually have him a spot behind Sandin but when you blew a #5 you think thats the player's value. I would do it because of the LD logjam but this likely isn't a move that will bear fruit this season, if at all.

I think Kerfoot will the one to do before Holl bc I just don’t see anyone left at UFA that could replace Holl and if it is via trade route, it will be an overpayment.
Kerfoot on the other hand is replaceable via internally like Robertson or Holmberg or remaining UFAs

Weegar is going to be looking for a contract similar to Reilly. I wouldnt trade for him at all.

We could look to potentially trade for Bertuzzi as well since there are no more restrictions but we'd have to be able to resign him long term.

Florida's cap crunch is going to be crazy with Bobrovsky still taking up $10 million, Knight needing a new deal and both Weegar and Huberdeau hitting UFA after next year.

Johnstons latest article mentions that Kerfoot and/or Holl COULD be the trades to make but seems more like stating the obvious rather than insider information.

Also mentioned that Dubas will probably add more forwards, but likely not as expensive as Jarnkrok obviously.

Ideally, we move on from both Kerfoot and Holl, and demote Clifford and Simmonds, carving out $7.1 million in space.

Then re-sign Sandin and Engvall, and allocate the rest to a $3-4 million player and a couple of league minimum deals. Or do you just let Sandin sit out the year as an RFA and have him do his thing in Europe? Then bring him back to replace Muzzin next summer.
