Absolutely. Actually, I am thinking 4 years at that AAV. Because his performance doesn't rate the 3 year deal at $2.6 that Boqvist got.

Agreed but

1.) closer to 2.6 than 1.4 is like 2.1. If he signed for 2.2 x 3 I think that’s reasonable? In fact when you consider 1.4 x 2 what would that be? 2 x 3?

2.) I don’t think that 4 years is a good idea. Straight to ufa

My wish of 3 offensive lines is coming to fruition (hopefully):
Bunting- Matthews -MM
X - Tavares - X
X- Jarnkrok- Nylander
Kubel- Kampf- Engvall

Sign Zar or Heinen (or both) and let the prospects fill the rest.

I don't know should i share this in here.
But here's one hardly negative article of Dubas actions in UFA market.
Do you guys agree with this or is this total bullshit without any fact based truth?
I think it's pretty clear that he's not done yet so it's still to early to judge IMO

Pretty bad.

Boosh over Holl?

Kerfoot not being traded (even though he still could)?

Losing Mikheyev on the contract he got?

All shite

Kerfoot and Amirov for Necas.
Who says no?

Bunting Matthews Marner
Necas Tavares Willy
Engvall Kampf Janrock
Robertson Xxx NAK

Seems like a perfect representation for a far too large slice of this fanbase and our media though.

Teams are apparently not willing to meet Vancouver’s demands
Nucks is asking for a 1st, plus A prospect and a good young player with potential with terms-preference goes to RHD.

Hoglander. I think he's been misused in Vancouver and could use a change of scenery. I do think he could do a good job at 2LW. Still on his ELC as well so he's cheap.
This kid plays big and won’t mind standing in front of the net.

Honestly, I'd sign him just for the entertainment value alone.
Add Phil to the list too.
Imagine having Phil and Subban sign for 900k on the same day for the Leafs.

Think that might break the Hfboards like when JT signed.

With what cap they have to work with its starting to look better. I'll judge more once the dust settles. Still a few moves coming forsure.

I'll add... NAK, Samsonov, and Jarnkrok are my favourite moves so far.

Something has gotta give. With our current roster we have 300 k cap space with no extras. Sure we could sign Sandin and dump Holl but that doesnt really get us much. So either we are running it back with Kerfoot in the top 6(Or someone of similar AAV if we dump Kerf) or Muzzin has gotta go.

Yeah this guy is an idiot. Murray is not the optimal solution in goal but this writer must be stuck in a time loop from before December to think Campbell is an answer in net. He's also pissed the team lost Lyubushkin despite him being a train wreck everywhere that's not in front of his own crease. There are no stats out there that paint Lyubushkin as anything more than a sub-par #7. the only loss that might sting a bit is Mikheyev but assuming Robertson and Knies are going to be on the roster in time for the playoffs there's nothing really lost here. Mikheyev had one stretch of decent production in his last 2 seasons and couldn't score a goal in a playoff game when a goalie is in net if his life depended on it.

I think moving Muzz is the answer, that being said...I dont like the idea of Sandin-Holl pair. My answer is to move out Holl and Muzzin and bring in a physical RHD vet. Someone like Savard in mtl, 3.5 aav and can bring a bit of what Muzzin does next to Sandin and gives us some savings to upgrade Kerfoots 3.5 to a 5 mil forward for top 6.

Not a huge fan of where they are today but pissing about what might happen to their goaltending makes absolutely no sense in July. Game 1 of the season is a long ways away so I think the biggest value add is yet to happen. I think they have some system forwards that they really need to take a look at so not sure anything more is happening there before well into camp at the earliest. Holl has apparently actually been on the block and not just on this forum so my prediction for the "splash" is at RD. Adios Sandin and hello someone safer at 2nd pair RD than Lilly or Holl. This is less about RS himself than the fact they have the 3 LD vets so he has been outbound in my mind ever since Gio resigned.

Honestly if Sandin is going to be a pain in the ass I wouldn't mind trading him for a young cost controlled forward

No J T Miller though, he doesn't have enough term on his deal

That's what I'd prefer too. Trade Holl and Kerfoot for whatever, or include them in swapping Sandin for a forward that has potential on the 2nd line.

Sign ZAR and Subban and I think that's good.

Out: Kerfoot, Holl, Sandin

In: Forward (trade), ZAR, Subban

Fair enough on point 2#.....that's true.

Maybe I am wrong, but he doesn't have the resume for those $$$ even. He's far closer to Liljegren/Dermott stats than Boqvist.

First 2 NHL seasons:

Dermott - 30 points in 101 games.
Liljegren - 24 points in 74 games.
Sandin - 28 points in 88 games.

Dermott got $874K on his first post ELC deal. Liljegren got $1.4 million x 2.

Doesn't a Sandin for Barrett Hayton trade practically write itself now?

That's not a bad target. The problem is that he's another small forward and I think the Leafs want a bit of a different type of player.

I still think the Kings is a good target too. They have a lot of young players and a need for defenseman. They are running out of cap space but should be able to fit Sandin.

Sandin for Hayton is not bad. Hayton played for the Soo Greyhounds under Dubas too.
