Kreider Duchene Miller
Zucc Zibanejad Buchnevich
Vesey Andersson Nash
Grabner Nieves Fast

McDonagh Shattenkirk
Skjei Smith
Staal/Berezgalov/DeAngelo

my dream seasoning open roster

edit- a Cullen-type on the 4th line and leading the PK would be nice.

I don't see Buch being traded in a deal for Duchene... not when he's only got 2 years left at 6M.. That ELC is going to be important for the Rangers going forward, same with Skjei for another year.

Rangers window is only open for two more years honestly. McDonagh's extension is D-Day.

Luckily Andersson and/or Chytil will probably be ready to hypothetically fill in for Duchene if he didn't resign.

I'd say this makes it pretty unlikely that McD is the guy moved for a #1C, eh?

I'd say so. I kind of thought Mac and Shatty are a 2 for 1 package. If you sign him, Mac will be here for his career (and if he does well and inks another 3Y deal after his 4) you get about 7Y of Mac/Shatty.

Guys we aren't getting Duchene. Let's stop this.

Maybe not but the Metro is an arms race and the offers out there are not great. The Rangers window is open for the time that Duchene would be under contract for and there are replacements in the pipeline. It would be great asset management and better than watching AV shuttle Buchnevich back and forth to line 4. Because AV things. The time is now.

Shattenkirk tells @NHLNetwork it wasn't a numbers game for him, it was about an opportunity to play for the team he loved when he was a kid.

I think the window could be conceivably longer than 2 years, they have a lot of young talent on the roster still. we'll see.. more moves might be coming too.

The McDonagh extension is going to be bad news for the roster.
