I kinda felt we would see a trade for a dman right after moving Brown

Hoping that gets sorted out soon

Right now we have 11.5M in cap space according to cap friendly: this year we need to sign Form, Joseph Brann and next year Stu Debrincat Pinto, Talbot & Zub.

Seems like we are going to run into cap trouble next year.

Nope. Hamonic, Zaitsev, Holden, Watson and Talbot will be gone. That’s 12M.

Zaitsev has 2 years let, I'm assuming you think he will be traded?
Also we will need to fill goalie 1 and assuming we get a D this year. It wont be easy to fit everyone IMO

If I'm reading right (could very much not be), CapFriendly is showing $34M in cap space currently available for 23-24.

Don't think there's going to be any issue.

You know, with the amount of teams over the salary cap, and looking at the cap space of teams that aren't, and then taking into account the number of RFAs still unsigned, I'm not exactly sure it's going to be as easy as we think to get rid of Zaitsev.

Once Chicago move Toews or Kane or Jones or all 3 they will need contracts and Zaitsev has less salary than AAV. It will likely cost a 2nd but not much more.

Batherson signed before his breakout and before Brady's contract. and I'm sure Batherson is feeling a little stupid right about now.

and lol so Brady and Josh eke out every cent possible to overpays but Stutzle, Debrincat, and Sanderson are expected to take under market value?
I don't think he feels stupid. He came from humble beginnings and opted for financial security early. I might have as well. It turns out if he "bet on himself" he would have made more, but maybe also could have suffered a catastrophic injury or illness. He chose "financially set for life" first.

I'm gonna take 20 minutes to f*** around with it for fun. In...10 minutes. I've gotta look busy for now.

Wish we used Brown to land Marino, Pens were looking to trade him for a 2nd/3rd line winger. Not sure why we didn't make it happen. Maybe we were aiming for Weegar but it looks like Florida is keeping him now, and Arizona is in no rush to deal Chychrun unless they get a ransom. We might be stuck on the last critical piece.

If Brown for Marino was on the table then I'm pretty disillusioned but somebody claimed JT Miller was being offered by Van, so I have no clue what to think.

Rumors are the Pens were close to dealing him last week and it wasn't to the Canucks. Could've been us. Might've needed a sweetener to get it done, but could be that PD was higher on Weegar and thought we had a good chance at landing him. Seem like he's off the table now :/
