Skinner, Arvidsson and Perry are all guys who all have games that should click on an effective PP unit. Maybe it's time to change the single unit dynamic and spread out some of the wealth.

Move RNH and Hyman down to the second unit, Skinner and RV up and see how the team responds.
We have enough talent where we can build 2 effective units. Hyman/Perry as two effective net front guys. Nuge/McD as 2 effective distributors. Skinner/Drai as 2 effective shooters. Bouch/Nurse as 2 effective QBs. Fill in with Brown/Henrique/Podz or whoever we need to get going and confident.

I don't mind that idea at all. Brings more urgency to the PP knowing they're competing against each other for minutes as well. If PP1 scores, they start the next PP. If they don't, PP2 starts. Starting unit gets 60-70 seconds

PP1
Hyman (net front)
Skinner (shooting threat) - Henrique (bumper) - McDavid (distributor)
Bouchard (shooting threat)

PP2
Perry (net front)
RNH (distributor) - Arvidsson (bumper) - Draisaitl (shooting threat/distributor)
Nurse

Yeh I was thinking if we do this, make it like PPA and PPB. Give them equal chances, and spread out the talent equally as well. And yeh they can compete amongst eachother.

Everyone's more confident when they are getting puck touches. And confidence breeds production. I like those units, we can work with that.

Blackwood to oilers! After he let in 4 goals on 11 shots last night we knew we needed that upgrade...
Don't hang onto your Skinner poster too long there bud. Blackwood looks like Patrick Roy next to Skinner thus year (on a worse team)

How do we have the hardest schedule all year lol!

It’s tough to get acclimated to a new city and new team. To take on a role as a complimentary forward when you’ve always been an alpha forward
Corey Perry was interviewed by Rishaug the other day and had some comments that I found interesting. He spoke about how the Oilers room can be a bit intimidating for newcomers. And how it’s sometimes harder to fit in as a ‘good’ player than it is as a ‘role player’.

I was one who expected Jeff Skinner to be quite a bit better than he has shown so far. Probably underestimated the degree to which a lack of PP time was going to impact his game.

Sorry I'm not disagreeing about the schedule.... I'm asking how it can be one of the hardest all year. I am just making statements.

Perry is always a good listen. Lots of vet wisdom there like Ekholm. It makes sense, you got a lot of other “good” players that are already the leaders in the room and you don’t want to step on any toes. Oilers lockerroom has always seemed mature and nice to me though, hopefully they are on-boarding talent and welcoming to them.

I really think offensive forwards need that PP time. Has to be something to that theory and we should give it a try.

Honestly, I’m disappointed that the coach hasn’t thrown him a lifeline by putting him on the mediocre PP. Could help boost his confidence and help fix the PP by putting a guy that can and will actually shoot

They definitely need to spread the wealth, they’ve got enough to really be able to run two strong power play units. Give the guys a chance and put together some different looks. We’ve got plenty of guys who can contribute, it doesn’t always have to run through Mcdavid/Draisaitl/Bouchard, seems like teams have adapted to a lot of what they want to do.

Canucks board in semi meltdown mode since Hronek got injured and they might have to play Desharnais on the first pairing with Hughes.

Lurking around other teams trade boards. The amount of teams looking for 4RHD is insane. How many years have we tried to find one and failed?

Should bite the bullet and put together a package for Jiricek. If he works out it’ll solve a problem for many many years to come.

Maybe JT can yell at Hronek to heal faster.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they pulled the trigger on Jiricek. Rutherford's a bit of a cowboy, and isn't risk averse. Here's hoping they pay a fortune (and lol at the idea that Hoglander + would even make them pick up the phone).

We should be thankful though. We're a Bouchard injury away from being in a similar boat.

How the f*** did Fabbro get to waivers. You mean to tell me Trotz couldn’t have squeezed a 5th round pick for a RHD paid 2.5M per year? One call to Bowman and he gets atleast a 5th for him.
