A whole, whole, whole lot more than a top 10 protected pick and a prospect. Would pay much more than what Chychrun would cost.

Think of what we'd want for Tkachuk right after signing a 3 year, 12 million dollar deal, that's what it would take to get Isles even picking up the phone on Dobson
Lay it out for me.

Okay that’s ridiculous.
It’s a high ask. Because they don’t want to move dobson and we haven’t heard of dobson even wants to leave.

To acquire. A player a team doesn’t want to give up the price needs to be high

Okay that’s ridiculous.
Why would the Isles trade a 22 year old, 6'4 top pair right D, who just put up 50+ points, who they just resigned to a very cheap 3 year bridge deal for a top 10 protected pick and a prospect?

That literally makes absolutely zero sense. He's their most valuable piece in the entire organization.

Guy is a potential Norris winner, he's a stud. I'd give up a lot for him, but it's never happening

Well that team is going nowhere until they acquire some offence. They have their #1 RD signed for 8 years at a great AAV, who has a full NTC for the next 5 years. I get that Dobson is really good which is why they need to use him to get assets to acquire an offensive difference maker like Kane.

They’d trade any of their other D far before they’d trade Dobson to make that happen I’d think.

Dobson had more TOI than Pulock this past season at 21, took over the PP from him, and is only going to be getting more ES ice time moving forward as a developing big D.

They definitely need more offence, they won’t be trading Dobson for it, and if they do it will be for an absolute truck load.

Dobson is their number 1 D going forward. I'd consider gum untouchable for the foreseeable future.

Would require a big add to Kane to get dobson.

Pulock and Pelech have full NTCs and the others don’t get you much. I’m assuming the 2 x 2023 1sts gets them Kane at 50% retained.

I don’t see another player on their roster that gets a 2023 1st and doesn’t hurt the limited forward scoring options.

Let’s do it as a 3-way

To NYI
Patrick Kane at 50% retained + extension
Shane Pinto or Ridly Greig

To Chicago
2023 1st NYI top 10 protected
2023 1st OTT top 3 protected

To Ottawa
Noah Dobson

What does Ottawa need to add to make this work for Lou.

I can’t see Chicago doing better than that for Kane.

Dobson is literally what we pray Sanderson turns into one day. There is nothing ridiculous at all about the price tag being Sandy + a 1st. The only thing ridiculous would be the Isles accepting anything less.
It’s ridiculous because we would create the same hole on the left side we currently have on the right.

The sens would not give Sanderson and a first for dobson. And the isles would not give dobson for Sanderson and a first. Both asks are high.

Dobson is a 6'4 right shot dman that is 22 years old and just put up 51pts on a stingy Isles team. Sanderson has been an often injured but elite prospect who has performed very well at the NCAA level.

These would not create the same holes in the lineup whatsoever. Getting Dobson for Sanderson would be a massive upgrade in the short-term and most likely the long-term as well unless Sanderson develops incredibly well.

New game. How does Lou get a true impact forward on the Island. Options are limited outside of Patrick Kane.

I'd be ok with Sanderson+1st, but when you include Greig or Pinto then it's a no, dawg. I see that Greig/Pinto impact + Sanderson impact on the team in the future > Dobson impact.

Sens would never move Sanderson for Dobson, let alone add a 1st. Isles won't move him anyways.

People really over-rating prospects.

I find it a little humourous how originally, many were categorically against including Greig in the Chychrun trade, and then subsequent to his injury a few started saying "Greig + top 3 protected '23".

Sanderson could be anything, but we'd be lucky if he became as good as Dobson. Ideally, I'd trade a package around Pinto + 1st for Dobson however.

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Dobson
Holden - Brannstrom
Hamonic

Who is saying Greig plus top 3 protected 1st for Chychrun? You do realize Dobson is a much more valuable piece than Chychrun right?

It's ironic that you're suggesting others are over rating a prospect, then offer a 1st + pinto for dobson. Keep going.

Honestly the good news with the Dobson deal is we can absolutely sign Sanderson to cheap. On a bridge he can't command more than 3.5mill, and long term no more than 5mill, outside of him putting a Cale Makar like impact in his first two seasons.

I'd trade Greig easily as a Sens fan
Debrincat cost you 7th OA, you are not trading that here

Im not saying that exact trade is what I would do nore that Ottawa should do but I probably wouldn't make Coronato unavailable for Chychrun in a vacuum. To me something like Greig + 1st + one of Brannstrom, Boucher, Jarvintie, Ostapchuk, Lassi, etc is a good base if they are taking on 2 years of Zaitsev
I'm totally fine moving Greig in a Chychrun deal, add in shedding Zaitsev and I'll do 2 protected firsts as well easily. We've been dogshit for 5 years now, and stockpiled a ridiculous pool of prospects - when do we say it's time to take the next step? Adding G, Cat, Talbot is a good start - we can only coddle our prospects and value them like first born children for so long lol. Take the swing!
In the last few days.
